Google Play carrier billing officially launched for Airtel and Vodafone customers in India
Google Play had launched carrier billing for Idea customers in India in May last year. Now, it has expanded the service to Airtel as well as Vodafone. Carrier billing will now allow Airtel and Vodafone customers to pay for apps, games, and books on Google Play directly from their pre-paid or post-paid account. Airtel teams up with TSRTC to offer 4G data via WiFi on buses in Hyderabad
Airtel has teamed up with Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) to offer complimentary 4G data service through WiFi for commuters of Metro Luxury buses in Hyderabad. Airtel, Vodafone and Idea expected to launch VoLTE services soon to take on Reliance Jio
Reliance Jio officially launched pan-India 4G LTE services with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) support and free voice calls in September. Now Airtel has signed a $60 million (Rs. 402 crore) pan-India deal with Nokia to implement VoLTE calling technology, according to a report from ET Telecom.
