OnePlus Nord CE 2 Review: A decent mid-ranger

Apple will reportedly allow Face ID module repairs at Apple Stores and AASPs soon

In yet another consumer-friendly move, Apple is reportedly planning to allow authorized technicians to officially repair the Face ID module on iPhones without needing to perform whole-unit repairs. The company will provide Apple Stores and AASPs with the necessary parts and tools to perform the repair, and it will be available for the iPhone XS and newer.

ASUS 8z with Snapdragon 888 will finally launch in India on February 28

ASUS introduced the Zenfone 8, the company’s latest flagship smartphone, back in May 2021. The company confirmed that the India launch of the phone will be delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic in the country. The ASUS 8Z name was confirmed soon after. DoT requests TRAI to speed 5G spectrum pricing for quicker rollout in India

India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has sent a letter to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to speed up the pricing of 5G spectrum, for which the auctions are expected to be held soon. The letter relays the wishes of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to have 5G networks deployed in India by August 15th, 2022.

Nubia Z40 Pro with 6.67″ FHD+ 144Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, up to 16GB RAM, 35mm lens, magnetic charging announced

ZTE’s nubia brand just announced the nubia Z40 Pro, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in China, as it had promised. It retains the 6.67-inch FHD+ 144Hz FHD+ AMOLED screen from the predecessor, but this has Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with up to 16GB of RAM, triple rear cameras the includes a 64MP main camera with custom Sony IMX787 flagship sensor and offers 35mm equivalent portrait focal length. There is a 50MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP periscope camera. Global smartphone SoC shipments record 5% YoY growth in Q4 2021; MediaTek leads with 33% share: Report

According to a new report from Counterpoint Research, the global smartphone AP (Application Processor)/SoC (System on Chip) witnessed a growth of 5% YoY during 2021. 5G-capable SoCs accounted for half of total shipments, and the market was led by MediaTek, Qualcomm and Apple.
