First Google Android phone coming to T-mobile today

The stage is all set for T-mobile to launch the G1 handset today at New York.

The handset powered by Google Android  operating system will retail at $199 , the same price Apple iPhone3G

8GB is available with AT&T.

The Gphone  is manufactured by Taiwanese phone maker HTC

We will try our best to get our hands on this phone as it is  going to be available in USA starting this October

New Samsung BEAT music phones

New Asus PDA P552w launched

Asus launched a new PDA handset called the P552w.

The P552w runs on Window’s Mobile 6.1 Professional. This handset has a touch screen and aims to be a competitor to HTC Touch Diamond and other touch screen mobiles.

The handset features Glide (Gester technology) which uses the handset’s touch-responsive user interface to make navigating and performing tasks on the mobile more intuitive and interactive, by scrolling and flipping pages etc. with the touch of your finger.

Nokia N96 in stores from September 16

The Nokia N96 launched by the company in India recently will be available across stores from September 16th.

Touted to give tough competition to the Apple iPhone, this handset will be available for Rs 35,000. Read Fonearena’s coverage of iPhone Vs N96 here.

At Rs 35,000 it is an expensive phone but with higher features than iPhone which at Rs 32,000 – 36,000 is not cheap either.

A customer can purchase a handset online and make the payment via debit or credit card. India will soon become a Nation of mobile users. The steadily increasing mobile using population expands due to the ever increasing usage by the youth. A recently completed IDC study confirms that mobile users perceive they derive one of the following sets of benefits from using mobile phones – safety and security, productivity and convenience, or style and status. We spoke to a few from Gen X to find out what their mobiles do for them and what handset models are popular.

Kunal who is a student of Class Xi owns a Nokia 6085. This flip phone has a FM Radio that Kunal really likes. He also likes the look of the handset. To him, it is just a way of keeping in touch with his friends.

Amit has a Nokia 6030 is a handset that supports 10 Indian languages and is an unpretentious handset that has easy-to-use functions. 3G auctions in India

3G is steadily becoming a reality in India.

Since the 3G license guidelines were announced, the great 3G auction will now commence.

There are 66 auctions to be held — 22 for CDMA, 22 for BWA (Broadband Wireless Access), and 22 for GSM. These will be held simultaneously, and the government is currently looking for an eligible auctioneer (an international expert) who will help them carry out the spectrum auction. The Youth use mobiles for PC applications

More research is out showing that today’s youth view their mobile phones as an extension of the online lives from their PCs.

The report from In-Stat points out that the generation aged 8 to 27 use their mobile phones to access their social networks wherever they are.

This news is great for companies attempting to bring PC content to mobiles.

As content is pulled to mobile devices, publishers will pay to make sure it arrives in a readable format and quickly enough to satiate user demand, meaning content delivery networks, providers of transcoding services and services that render PC content accessible to mobile phones could benefit.
