The Magic Pill For Connectivity Problems On Symbian: NetQin

Connectivity settings on Symbian have been Achilles heel for the platform ever since EDGE and then 3G and WiFi were introduced to mobile phones. At first, it was each app that wanted to connect and kept nagging you with a popup. Then Destinations were ushered in S60 3rd FP2, making it possible to seamlessly switch between a data connection and WiFi, but you still had to approve connectivity and pick a Destination for each app. Then, on Symbian^1 and 3, something awesome was introduced to help with that: a default “Internet” destination and connections could happen without your approval. Except, like I said in my N8 review, it ended up being an absolute nightmare.

T-Mobile reveals more details about Galaxy S 4G and G-Slate

T-Mobile has today announced some details regarding its Android product lineup. Yes, Samsung and LG Android devices are talk of the talk, and T-Mobile has roped partnership with them, and has released Galaxy S 4G which T-Mobile claim’s as fastest smartphone capable to handle peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps, and the LG G-Slate T-Mobile’s first 4G Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet.

Most of you guys might be pretty familiar with Galaxy S right? Galaxy 4G is just that with a front facing camera. This is T-Mobile’s answer to Verizon. Also T-mobile has bundled mobile HD TV through T-Mobile TV, Warner Bros. Pictures’ Academy Award nominated film INCEPTION, and T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik with this device. Also they are pretty aggressive with their data plans for the Galaxy S 4G. Starting at $10 per month, which is pretty good if you ask me.

Which the LG G-slate was teased at CES this year. This is an Android tablet not just like others, It runs on Android 3.0, 8.9-inch display, features 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 32GB of internal storage and wait for it… A 3-D camera? Yes, a Stereoscopic video camera which will shoot 3-D videos at 1080p. Supports both 3-D viewing and video capture.  Also has a 2mp front facing camera for video calling on T-Mobiles vast 4G network. They also confirmed their 4G network’s expansion to the South and Midwest regions.

Availability

LG G-Slate’s pricing and availability not confirmed, but somewhere around Spring (March?) is what they say. More at  T-Mobile G-Slate product page.

Dell Venue was found listed at Flipkart before its official launch on 3rd February for Rs.28,499. Dell Venue is the firms latest Android device, which runs on Froyo a.k.a Android 2.2 also has a huge 4.1-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass, phone clocked at 1GHz, along with a 8MP camera. Google Might Announce Web-Based Android Market And Google Music Tomorrow

Google is rumored to launch its web-based Android Market and Google Music tomorrow at the Android 3.0 Honeycomb event in Google Headquarters. Google Music will allow you to upload your music collections to Google’s servers and then synchronize them with any mobile device.

We already know that, Google is holding an event on 2nd February for an in-depth look at Honeycomb, Android ecosystem news and hands-on demos of the latest Honeycomb tablets at the Google headquarters.
