Twitter for BlackBerry updated to v2.0.0.15 (Beta)

Twitter for Blackberry has been updated to version 2.0.0.15 (known as version 2.0) in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Facebook for Android v1.6.0 brings video upload support

Facebook for Android has been updated to version 1.6.0, that brings video upload support. The previous version was 1.5.4 that was released this April. The new version also brings some improvements in the news feed and ability to view the Facebook pages. The video uploading feature was available for Facebook for PlayBook app recently. Comscore Report : iOS traffic is bigger than Android in India – iOS – 7.4% vs Android 6.5%

comScore Inc. announced the launch of Device Essentials which is a new service that reports digital traffic as per devices ranging from computers and mobile phones to e-readers and gaming devices. Using this service, analysis traffic pattern from different devices was made in thirteen different countries including India, which showed that 7.4% of traffic comes from iOS devices while Android follows with 6.5%

China Mobile employee confirmed next iPhone due in September

Jon von Tetzchner leaving Opera Software

It’s actually sad to hear that Opera co-founder and current Advisor Jon von Tetzchner is leaving the company . I had the pleasure meeting Jon in 2009 and he’s a pretty knowledgeable guy and a pioneer in the internet space .He was in India recently for a Opera Meetup. He seems pretty tight lipped about this future plans, but we wish him luck !. Opera Software is the company behind Opera Mini and Mobile.

Apple iPhone 3GS 8GB version at a Price of Rs.19990 silently makes it’s way to India !

Looks like Apple is just heating up the mobile phone war in India. After launching the iPhone 4 in India recently , it has now launched the 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS in the country. BGR is reporting that the 3GS has been launched for Rs.19990. Apple has always been blamed for making the iPhone a costly affair in India and look like all that is going to change.  The price of the 8GB 3GS iPhone might send a shiver down the spine of Nokia and Samsung who pretty much dominate the category.

AT&T launching HTC ChaCha as HTC Status, launching in coming weeks

Verizon has finally started rolling out the webOS 2.1 update to the Verizon Palm Pre 2 smartphones. The new webOS 2.1 update comes with Voice Dial, Support for Bluetooth keyboards, Backup changes, Email fixes and much more.

Last year, HP launched the successor of the original Palm Pre smartphone, the Palm Pre 2. This handset originally runs on the webOS 2.0 and it was later updated to the webOS 2.1. This update was rolled out to the unlocked Palm Pre 2 devices in March, but the Verizon subscribers were left behind. Acer Iconia Tab A500 To Get Android 3.1 Update On July 5

Acer Germany team recently posted on their Facebook page, that the much awaited Android 3.1 update will be available in Germany during the next month. Acer have not yet announced the release date of the Android 3.1 update in other countries.

Last month, Acer launched its much awaited Android tablet, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 in India. This tablet runs on the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Operating System. But we have a good news for those, who were eagerly waiting for the Android 3.1 update on the Acer’s amazing Iconia A500 tablet. Acer Germany team recently posted on their Facebook page, that the much awaited Android 3.1 update will be available in Germany from July 5.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 features a 10.1 inch touchscreen display with 1280 X 800 resolution, 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra dual core processor, Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Operating System, Acer User Interface, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, 5 megapixel rear camera with flash, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, HDMI port, USB port, DLNA certified, Dolby Mobile, 3.5mm Audio Jack, Full HD Playback, 16 GB internal memory, 32 GB expandable memory, and a Li-polymer battery with up to 8 hrs back up.

According to the Acer Germany’s Facebook page, the update will be available Over-The-Air (OTA) and the users will be automatically notified on their device as soon as the update is available for their device. Acer have not yet announced the release date of the Android 3.1 update in other countries, but you can expect the update before the end of July.
