The new iPhone 5c is “unapologetically plastic” according to Jony Ive, the man responsible for Apple’s well known industrial design, and we have to say we agree, a lot. The iPhone 5c beautiful to look at and beautiful to hold, no doubt about that, but there are not many changes under the hood. The iPhone 5c is just the iPhone 5 with a new body, but the plastic? The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was launched in India just a week ago, with much fanfare and a hefty price tag. Priced at a steep Rs. 49,990, the device has finally landed in the retail market in India and we have swiftly picked up one from nearby. We recently checked out the excellent benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 800 version but the version launched in India sports a Exynos 5 Octa(We’ll be posting benchmarks for this too), and that’s the one we are checking out today. A 5.7 inch 1080p screen, 3GB of RAM, one of the first USB 3.0 interfaces on a phone and a 13 Megapixel camera checks all the spec requirements for a top end flagship device. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Snapdragon 800 Benchmarks

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Snapdragon 800

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was announced at IFA earlier this month and was launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 49,900. The Indian version is powered by a 1.9 GHz Exynos 5420 Octa ( A15 1.9 GHz + A7 1.3 GHz) processor with ARM Mail T628 GPU. The LTE version has a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor with Adreno 330 GPU. We managed to get hold of the Snapdragon 800 version to run some synthetic benchmark tests. It packs a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Let’s find out how the smartphone performs in several synthetic benchmark tests.

Gionee Elife E6 now available in India for Rs. 22165

We already know that the Elife E6, Gionee’s latest flagship is slated to launch in India on October 3rd. Now the phone is available from online retailer Snapdeal, ahead of official launch. The Elife E6, successor of the Elife E5 has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display based on one-glass solution (OGS+) technology, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6589T processor processor and runs on Android 4.2. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f2.2 wide angle lens, BSI sensor, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 28mm wide angle lens. BlackBerry Z10 price temporarily drops to Rs. 29990 in India

BlackBerry India known for offers on their devices during the festive season. We have already seen price cuts and free goodies for the PlayBook, now the company has slashed the price of the BlackBerry Z10 temporarily. The BlackBerry Z10 was launched in India at a hefty price tag of Rs. 43490 back in February. Recently the company announced EMI schemes for the Z10 and up to Rs. 11000 discount on the Z10 in exchange for old phones. BlackBerry believes that the price cut will help the brand to reach out to more number of potential customers. Sony Xperia M Dual SIM now available in India for Rs. 14490


Sony Xperia M that was announced back in June along with the M Dual went on sale in India last month at Rs. 12,990. Now the Xperia M dual is available from online retailer Snapdeal. Apart from the dual SIM support, other features are similar to the single-SIM variant including a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8227 processor with Adreno 305 GPU. Sony’s Xperia M dual White Paper says that it comes with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), but both the online retails have mentioned it as Android 4.1. Apple iPhone 5S Unboxing

Apple unveiled the iPhone 5S earlier this month. While the iPhone 5S is still not officially launched in India, Varun managed to get one over from Hong Kong, which is one of the initial launch countries. Apple has already sold over 9 million iPhone 5S and 5C devices. It also said that the demand for the iPhone 5S has exceeded the initial supply, and many online orders are pushed to next month. The Apple iPhone 5s and 5c have been the fastest selling iPhones combined for Apple, with them seeing more than 9 million getting sold over just 3 days, but one thing that has been evading everyone’s hands and eyes has been the gold edition of the iPhone 5S. It has been sold out in nearly ever market the 5S has launched. Fortunately though, we have got our hands on the elusive Gold edition in the Hong Kong Apple Store. Amazon Kindle Fire HD gets a price cut in India, now available for Rs. 11,999

Amazon just announced their new series of Kindle Fire HDX and now we are seeing a price cut on the existing model of Kindle Fire HD in India. Originally, the 16GB version Kindle Fire HD was available for Rs. 15,999 and now it is available for Rs. 11,999 (while the 32GB version is now available for Rs. 15,999). The price cut comes just ahead of the launch of new generation Kindle Fires.

HTC One Android 4.3 OTA Update starts rolling out in Taiwan

The HTC One might have launched way back in February but it still remains the flagship phone for the company, and with it being a flagship comes the responsibility of fast updates. We have seen the Android 4.2.2 update roll out first in Taiwan, in the month of July, and now we are seeing the latest Android 4.3 update roll out for the HTC One again, in Taiwan, starting today. Android 4.3 is still the latest version of the vastly popular operating system and considering that even the Nexus devices run on this version, HTC and other OEMs have made good time on the updates.

Amazon announces the new Kindle Fire HD with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, starts at $139

Amazon has also upgraded the Kindle Fire HD along with the a faster 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display with a slightly better resolution than last year’s Kindle Fire HD and runs on the new Fire OS 3.0 Mojito based on Android Jelly Bean. It comes with 1GB of RAM and comes in 8GB and 16GB vairants. It doesn’t have LTE support like the Kindle fire HDX tablets.
