Android 4.4 KitKat factory images for Nexus 4, 7 and 10 now available

Google started rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10 few days back. Now the factory images and binaries for both the WiFi and Cellular versions of the Nexus, Nexus 10 and also for the Nexus 4 are available from the Google developers website. Google already announced that they will not release the Android 4.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus since Google doesn’t update its Nexus device beyond the 18 month period. Google Chrome v30 for Android brings Printing on KitKat devices, Autofill coming to Chrome for iOS soon

Google has updated the Chrome browser for Android to version 30 that brings printing support for Android devices running on the latest Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS. This update also brings support for stability and security updates. Google has also announced that they would roll out Autofill option for  Chrome for iPhone and iPad soon. This would let you you quickly fill out forms on-the-go. This feature is already available on Chrome for desktop and Android. Xolo Q1000 Opus powered by Broadcom BCM23550 quad-core chip launching this month

Xolo has announced that the company has partnered with Broadcom to launched the Xolo Q1000 Opus powered by Broadcom BCM23550 later this month.  Broadcom signed up for  ARMv7 and ARMv8 Architecture licenses earlier this year and announced the chip back in June, which has four ARM Cortex A7 Cores. The chip has support for Broadcom’s BCM4334 connectivity combo chip with 3G HSPA+ (HSPDA: 21Mbps; HSUPA 5.8 Mbps) connectivity and and BCM4752 multi-constellation GNSS location chip. It also has support for NFC, up to 12MP imaging, Dual SIM support and 1080p HD video capture and playback. BBM now available on iPad and iPod Touch

While the Android app brings with it some bug fixes, performance improvements, most of the feature additions lie on the iOS side of things. The biggest change with the update is that BBM is now supported on non cellular enabled iOS devices. This means that you can now install BlackBerry Messenger on your iPad as well as the iPod Touch. The latest trend in the Indian mid-range phablet market is the inclusion of a Full HD 1080p display in the smartphones and rightly so, every manufacturer has come up or is coming up with a Full HD smartphone and one among them is Zen. Zen’s Ultrafone Amaze 701 FHD comes with a 5inch Full HD display and is powered by the new MediaTek MT6589T quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, Power VR SGX544 GPU and is somewhat let down by just 1GB of RAM. However, it is equipped with a 13MP camera on the back which has become a mandatory for Indian manufacturers these days.

Xolo launched the Q900, the company latest mid-range smartphone in the Q CORE series few weeks back, we brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). Apart from the Camera, most of the specifications are almost similar to the Intex Aqua HD that we reviewed recently. Let’s find out how this compete with other devices in range of synthetic benchmark tests.

Nokia Camera App gets DNG support in the latest update

When Nokia unveiled the Nokia Lumia 1520 at the Abu Dhabi event a month ago, some of the important features of Lumia 1520 were its PureView camera and Lumia Black software update. Today, Nokia has updated its Nokia Camera app and the update v4.4.0.8 brings along with it, support for DNG capture (Digital Negative Format) for Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1020 which are running on Lumia Black update.

Gionee Elife E7 with 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800 (8974AC) processor launching on November 26th

Gionee has already confirmed that the Elife E7 would launch on November 26th at an event in Shanghai Film Museum in China. Now Gionee’s CEO Lu Weibing has shared on his Weibo page that the phone would feature a faster Qualcomm 8974AC quad-core chip clocked at 2.5 GHz, faster than the 8974AB chip. Even the Xiaomi Mi3 that was unveiled back in September features a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM 8974AB) processor, so the Elife E7 would be the first phone to feature the Snapdragon 800 (8974AC) chip. YotaPhone with Dual 4.3-inch LCD and e-Ink screens launching Internationally in December

YotaPhone from Russia-based Yota Devices is finally launching in December 2013. The company confirmed that the phone would launch next month, and TechCrunch is reporting that it would be available internationally. The company showed off the phone with dual screens at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year. It packs hefty specifications including a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LCD capacitive multi touch main screen and a 4.3-inch (360×640 pixels)  E-Ink rear screen.
