After several reports, Bitspin has confirmed that Google has indeed acquired the markers of Timely alarm clock app for Android. It also announced that the app is now free forever, including in-app purchases. It would work with Google to build new apps. These companies did not reveal the price of the deal. Google and LG partnered to launch the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition back in December last year. We already unboxed the tablet, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU and packs 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM, similar to the global variant of the LG G Pad 8.3. It has a 8.3-inch Full HD IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Let’s see how it performs in various synthetic benchmark tests. Since Google has optimized the processor to use the minimal use of CPU cores when the phone is idle, some benchmark might not show the correct scores.

Acer has announced Iconia B1-720 and B1-721, upgraded version of last year’s Iconia B1-A71 tablet. It ha a 7-inch capacitive touch screen 10-point multi-touch display based on One Glass Solution technology and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor (Probably MediaTek MT6572, similar to the Liquid Z5. It runs on Android Jelly Bean OS, but the version is not available yet. It also comes with a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera for video chats. The Iconia B1-721 has 3G support and the Iconia B1-720 comes with WiFi. Both these have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal and an expansion slot.
