Intel is the company everybody knew because of processors that still power the everyday PCs and laptops. But the sales of PCs and laptops has been outdone by the sales of smartphones and tablets. People are moving on and portable devices are the new thing. Intel has been producing chips for the smartphones and tablets, but it hasn’t earned much of a consideration from the manufacturers who seem to be more than content with ARM based SoCs. Intel has to fight hard to survive this battle and looks like they are having another go at the smartphone and tablet market in the upcoming MWC 2014.

HTC Desire 8, the company’s upcoming mid-range desire smartphone leaked last week along with specifications. As you can see from the official image with the invite, HTC has confirmed on Weibo that it would be officially unveiled on February 24th in China. Earlier leak revealed that the phone would come with a 5.5-inch display and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Earlier today Samsung launched the Galaxy NotePRO, the company’s latest tablet with a huge 12.2-inch screen in India at a price tag of Rs. 64,900. We got some hands-on time with the tablet at the Samsung Forum 2014 in Bali, where is launched. It comes with a S Pen stylus that docks on the back of the tablet and has a Wacom Digitizer for pressure sensitive input, just like the previous Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. It has a 12.2-inch (2560×1600 pixels) WQXGA display, powered by a Octa-Core Exynos 5 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung’s own Touch Wiz UI on top. Samsung announced a few products for the Indian market today and among them is the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo. Samsung is, off late, adding a “Neo” to its already existing products and with the addition of the tag, it suggests that they are meant for the mid-range and entry range buyers. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo has specifications relatively less powerful than the Galaxy Grand 2.
Lack of popular apps doesn’t seem to be a problem anymore for the Windows Phone platform as they have lots of applications from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. They happen to have some exclusives for the platform and a fitness application exclusive for Windows Phones comes from the creators of Windows Phone themselves.

Samsung has just launched the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo, the company’s latest tablet at the Samsung Forum 2014 priced at Rs. 16,490. It was announced as the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite last month and packs a 7-inch (1024×600) TFT LCD display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI on top. At CES 2014, Samsung unveiled a lot of Galaxy Note 3 look alike tablets that were huge and had displays as big as 12.2 inches and today they are launching the same in India. The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO is the biggest of the Samsung android tablets and comes with Samsung’s S-Pen functionality.
