Asus unveiled the Padfone Mini 4.3, the company’s first Padfone device with a smaller smartphone and docking station. We brought you the unboxing recently, here we have the benchmarks of the device. The phone has a quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8226) ARM Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.40 GHz with Adreno 305 GPU, bit faster than the Motorola Moto G and the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 that were clocked around 1.2 GHz. HTC A5 specifications leaked, could be headed for MWC 2014
HTC may not be announcing its flagship at MWC 2014, but it isn’t coming empty handed. HTC Desire 8 is a mid-range device headed for the Chinese market and the rumored HTC A5 may be the international variant of the HTC Desire 8. HTC Desire 8 is expected to be unveiled on February 24th in China and we are expecting to see the HTC A5 at the upcoming MWC 2014.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update starts rolling out
Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) users starting from Russia, according to SamMobile. The 3G Exynos variant has started getting the KitKat update before LTE Snapdragon variant, even though a build already leaked. Samsung promised Android 4.4 update for 14 Galaxy device in the U.S earlier this week. The Samsung Galaxy S4 got the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update in India last October. Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 First Look
Samsung introduced the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 with a huge 12.2-inch screen at the CES 2014 last month. It was launched in India at the Samsung Asia Forum 2014 in Bali earlier this week at a price tag of Rs. 64,900. We got to check out the tablet at the event. The NotePRO looks similar to the TabPRO 12.2 and also has almost similar specifications, but this has a S Pen stylus and Wacom Digitizer for pressure sensitive input. Asus Padfone Mini 4.3 Unboxing
Asus unveiled the Padfone Mini 4.3, the first mini version of the Padfone few months back. Unlike the Padfone with a 5-inch display that docks into the Padfone station with a 10.1-inch screen, this has a 4.3-inch screen and a smaller Padfone station with a 7-inch display. Remember, there are two Padfone Mini variants. The Padfone Mini 4.3 that we have unboxed has a 4.3-inch qHD screen and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, while the new Padfone Mini that we saw at the CES 2014 last month has a 4-inch WVGA screen and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 chip. Acer Liquid Z4 with 4-inch display, 1.3 GHz dual-core processor announced
Acer unveiled the Liquid Z5 with a 5-inch FWVA display earlier this year, today the company has announced the Liquid Z4, ahead of MWC 2014. It has a 4-inch capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with f2.4 lens, LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 3 Neo in India at a price tag of Rs. 40,900, at the Samsung Forum Asia 2014 in Bali couple of days back. It went on pre-order on the same day at the launch price, but Samsung has suddenly reduced the price of the device, that is available for pre-order at Rs. 38,990 on the official eStore. Samsung Exynos Infinity SoC coming at MWC 2014
We didn’t see any new Exnos SoC at the CES 2014 last month. Samsung has started teasing their upcoming Exynos Infinity chip that would be unveiled at the MWC 2014 next week. Hike messenger by Bharti Softbank (BSB) has announced that it has crossed the 15 million users. It crossed 5 million users in just four months after its launch on 12th December 2012 and has tripled its user base within 9 months. The cross-platform messaging app that is targeted at youth introduced Last Seen Privacy, a new feature that lets users choose to share their ‘Last Seen’ and ‘Status Updates’ with a chosen set of friends.

Facebook to acquire WhatsApp for $19 billion
In a surprising move, Facebook has announced that it would acquire WhatsApp for $19 billion, including $4 billion in cash, about $12 billion Facebook shares and $3 billion worth of stock units to WhatsApp employees, that is likely to be paid over 4 years. WhatsApp has 450 million monthly active users worldwide and over 320 million daily active users. It is currently adding more than 1 million new registered users per day.
