Twitter has finally launched the Vine Video sharing app for Android. The app was first launched for iPhone earlier this year. Vine let users upload a video clip up to 6 seconds directly from their mobile phone that loops automatically.It even got an update last month that brought option to use the front-facing camera to record videos and tagging function. Foxconn to develop Firefox devices

As we had reported previously, The Foxconn Technology Group today announced a partnership with Mozilla to collaborate and create devices based on the Firefox OS. Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. as it is officially known has announced that is working on more than five devices ranging from smartphones to televisions based on the Firefox OS.

The alliance with Mozilla comes at a time when the company is trying to grow beyond its original design manufacturing roots to a combination of software and hardware offerings. iBall has launched the Andi 4.7G Cobalt, the company’s latest flagship Android smartphone soon. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) capactitive touch screen IPS display at 312 ppi pixel density, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 12-megapixel auto focus camera on the back with dual LED flash and range of camera features such as face beautification, smile detection, 360 degree Panorama.It has a 5-megapixel auto-focus front-facing camera. It comes with Pop Up Play, Flip To Mute,Direct Call, Gesture Unlock, OTA update functionality and Power Saving Mode.

Apple pushes for license deals as music streaming service launch at WWDC beckons

Apple, especially, Steve Jobs, is known to be a hard negotiator. Having revolutionized the digital music industry with the iTunes store, the media industry is no stranger to the ways and methods of Apple negotiations. But recently, Apple seems to have been going through a hard time negotiating with record labels and artists for one little reason, they are late. The music streaming service, which was pioneered by various start ups like Pandora in the US and Spotify in the Europe, is a novel way to listen to music, for free. Supported by advertising, the streaming services apparently make far less money than the traditional a la carte way of buying music, like the iTunes. They might be late but that doesn’t stop Apple from launching their own streaming service, because that’s the demand of the day.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD has received the Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) update as the company promised. The A116 Canvas HD was launched with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). Micromax launched the A110Q Canvas Plus last month that runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. The Micromax A110 Canvas 2 got the Android 4.1 update back in March. The Micromax A116 update would also be available from the Micromax Service Centers where the users can take their devices to get it flashed to Android 4.2 without any cost. Karbonn ties up with Vodafone, offers bundled data with Titanium S5 and Smart A12

Karbonn has announced that they have tied up with Vodafone India to offer free data on purchase of the Karbonn Titanium S5 and the Smart A12. This would let the Karbonn Titanium S5 buyers enjoy 1GB of 3G or 3G Unlimited Internet Plan free for 3 Months on Vodafone. First time Vodafone 3G customers using Karbonn A12 would get 500 MB  of 3G and 2G Internet Plan free for 2 months.  The company partnered with Airtel earlier this year to offer similar data packs with select smartphones. Ford SYNC AppLink launched in Asia Pacific

At Computex 2013 here in Taipei , Taiwan ,  Ford announced that it is bringing Ford SYNC AppLink to the Asia Pacific region.Ford SYNC is a voice controlled in-car entertainment system installed in most Ford cars.AppLink is a new feature which lets users interact with mobile applications using the same voice based Sync platform.   Pandora, TuneIn Radio and Kaliki are the first 3 apps which will support AppLink functionality and be available in the Asia Pacific region. ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 Photo Gallery

The ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 was launched just a while ago, at a pre-Computex keynote in Taiwan. The 7 inch tablet’s main USP is the price, which at 129$ for the base version is a steal. Coming in vibrant colours, the MeMO Pad has a 7 inch 1280×800 IPS screen with good viewing angles, unlike the ASUS Fonepad. Powered by a MediaTek quadcore MT8125 chip, the MeMO Pad runs on Android 4.2 JellyBean, which is currently the latest version of the popular software. After the event, we were at the presentation area, and we have brought you some photos from there.

Asus has announced a refreshed version of the Transformer Pad Infinity at the Computex 2013 in Taipei. It has a 10.1-inch (2560 x 1600 pixels) LED backlit 10-point multi-touch IPS display with 178-degree wide viewing angles, powered by a 1.9GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor with quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 CPU and 72-core GeForce GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has ASUS SonicMaster-enhanced audio and a redesigned 254mm keyboard dock with multi-touch touchpad. ASUS FonePad Note FHD 6 Photo Gallery

ASUS just announced the Fonepad Note FHD6 at a pre-Computex keynote in Taiwan today. The large device comes with a 6 inch full HD 1080p screen, and with a stylus in tow, this seems to be squarely aimed at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which might sport similar specifications and placement. Running on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean, it is powered by an Intel Z2560 chipset with a dual core 1.6 GHz processor and the PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU. Having witnessed the announcement at the event, we went to the demo area to take some photos of the device. While we were not allowed to go hands on with it, we were still able to take some handsome shots of the device, find them past the break.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8 inch and Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 inch tablets announced

Samsung today introduced two new models as part of its Galaxy Tab range of tablets. The tablets that will be retail in 8 inch and 10 inch sizes will be available starting June. The 8 inch tablet has a 1.5Ghz dual core processor  of an unknown variety. The screen has a resolution of 1280×800. Internally you’ll also find 1.5GB of RAM and 16/32GB of storage. A rear facing 5MP camera is available while a 1.3MP unit performs front facing duties. The battery unit on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8inch is rated at 4,450 mAh battery.

It has a 6-inch (1920 x 1080) Full HD Super IPS+ display, powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor with SGX544 MP2 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with a stylus that docks on the back of the tablet along with Asus exclusive note apps. Asus has announced the MeMO Pad HD 7 at the Computex 2013. It is the successor of the Asus MeMO Pad ME172V that was announced earlier this year. It has a 7-inch (1280 x 800) HD IPS 10-point multi-touch display with 170-degree wide viewing angles, powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Asus SonicMaster Audio Technology and Stereo Speakers for enhanced audio output.

It is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 Clover Trail+ processor, has a 10.1-inch (1920 x 1200) WUXGA display and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixels auto focus rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. The company unveiled the MeMO Pad Smart with a 10.1-inch HD display earlier this year. ARM unveils Cortex-A12 Processor and Mali-T622 GPU aimed at mid-range smartphones and tablets

ARM has unveiled the the Cortex-A12 Processor and Mali-T622 GPU at the Computex 2013 in Taipei aimed at mid-range smartphones and tablets. The Cortex-A12 would offer 40 percent more performance than Cortex-A9, brings premium features such as virtualization, TrustZone and ARM’s big.LITTLE processing,  It is based on 28nm technology and is about 30 percent smaller in area compared to the Cortex-A9 processor in 40nm technology using the same configuration. The Mali-T622 GPU in the Mali-T600 series would offer 50% improvement over the first generation of the Mali-T600 series and supports OpenGL/ES 3.0. ARM unveiled the 2nd Gen T-600 GPUs, Mali-T624, Mali-T628 and Mali-T678 last year.
