Global smartphone sales report a slow growth, sales in China take a nose dive: Gartner

Smartphone sales recorded the slowest growth rate since 2013 in the second quarter of 2015 globally, as per a latest report from Gartner. Worldwide sales of smartphones to end users totaled 330 million units, an increase of 13.5% over the same period in 2014.

Lenovo Vibe S1 could come with dual front cameras, fingerprint sensor

Lenovo Vibe S1 surfaced back in February and recently got certified on TENAA. According to @upleaks, the smartphone feature dual selfie cameras on the front. Even the image revealed by TENAA showed two sensors on the right side of the earpiece. According to new rumors, the smartphone will have two 5-megapixel cameras on the front. It is not clear how this would help in capturing better selfies. @upleaks also got hold of a new image of the smartphone that shows a fingerprint sensor on the back, different from earlier images.

WhatsApp introduced web client for Android earlier this year. Later it was expanded to other platforms. WhatsApp Web has finally started rolling out for iPhone users. It was noted by a reddit user. It is available through a server-side update, so it will be pushed out automatically if you don’t have it yet. You can go to WhatsApp settings in the iPhone app, select WhatsApp web and scan the QR code that you get when you visit web.whatsapp.com from the desktop.
