Qualcomm Technologies has announced new milestones for its Snapdragon 410 and 210 processors. Within the first year of its commercial launch, the Snapdragon 410 processor is now available in more than 550 mobile device designs while 210 processor has been included in more than 200 designs.
Qualcomm just announced Quick Charge 3.0, the next-generation fast charging technology. It will be 4X faster than conventional charging, twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and 38% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0, said the company. It will help improve fast charging up to 27% or reduces power dissipation by up to 45% when compared to Quick Charge 2.0. It is also 100% backward-compatible with Quick Charge 1.0 and Quick Charge 2.0 devices and supports a broad range of connectors. Qualcomm has announced the upcoming X12 LTE modem that will be part of the new Snapdragon 820 processor. Devices based on the newly announced Snapdragon 820 processor are expected to be part of flagship smartphones shipping in first half of 2016. The company made this and a number of other important announcements at the ongoing Qualcomm 3G / LTE summit here in Hong Kong.
Qualcomm just announced Snapdragon 617 and 430 chipsets in their Snapdragon 600 and 400 lineup. Both these chips have LTE support,including Global Mode RF360 support. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 is an Octa-Core chip with 8 ARM Cortex A53 and CPUs clocked at 1.5GHz per core and packs Adreno 405 GPU. The Snapdragon 430 is an Octa-Core chip with 8 ARM Cortex A53 64-bit CPUs clocked at 1.2GHz per core and packs Adreno 505 GPU. Lenovo announced the K3 Note in India as an upgraded version of the A7000 with a 5.5″ 1080p display compared to the 720p display on the latter. Similarly, Lenovo have announced an upgraded version of the A7000 in the Philippines as well but with an A7000 Plus moniker instead of the K3 Note name by which it is known in India.
