ASUS has announced price cuts for their Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Max series of Zenfone smartphones in India. Even though the company did not mention the reason for the price cut, this could be due to GST. The Zenfone 3 5.5-inch has received a huge Rs. 3000 price cut and few other smartphones have received Rs. 2000 price cut. Some of these Zenfone 3 smartphones got VoLTE support earlier this year. Asus has sent out press invites for the launch of its Zenfone 3 series at its Z3nvolution event in India on August 17th. The series has Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Ultra and Zenfone 3 Deluxe. All these were introduced at the Computex 2016 in May, come with 1080p displays and have a fingerprint sensor on the back.

Asus just announced Zenfone 3 at the Computex 2016. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p Super IPS+ display with a screen-to-body ratio of 77.3%, 2.1mm narrow bezel and has 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Zen UI on top. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with Asus TriTech autofocus system that automatically selects 2nd generation laser, phase detection, or continuous autofocus for 0.03-second quick focus and subject tracking
