Here’s Ookla’s response to Reliance Jio’s claims regarding Airtel speedtest issue

samsung_galaxy_s7_edge_cat_9_lte_speedtest

Update: Jio has responded again saying:

With reference to the issue of the fundamental flaw in Ookla’s Speedtest methodology which Jio has pointed out repeatedly, we note that Ookla has now admitted to ‘limitations’ in its application, and that it “does not always indicate the actual data provider in devices with multiple SIMs.” This admission by Ookla reinforces Jio’s submission that there is a clear contamination in primary data collected by Ookla in India, where nearly 90 percent of smartphones are dual SIM devices. Any results that are based on incorrect and contaminated primary data cannot be definitive, only probabilistic. It is a travesty that such results are being passed off as “official” results by a market-leading operator. We will continue to expose such misleading practices and raise it at suitable forums.

Earlier this week Reliance Jio approached Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) against Airtel saying that the claim of Airtel as India’s fastest network in its Ads are false, misleading and incorrect. LG G6 Review

lg_g6_review (3)

The number 5 seems to be quite problematic for the Koreans. Samsung faced some of the worst reviews ever for a flagship product and one of the worst sales performance in their flagship Galaxy S line-up with the S5. The S5 did bring in some improvements but those were minor and in the process almost made some bad decisions including larger bezels etc. All these small things led to very disappointing sales figures and Samsung knew that had to start afresh. Project Zero was born and eventually resulted in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices which were a huge leap from their preceding model. They were a step in the right direction and Samsung has been doing everything perfectly well with their smartphones since except for the Note7 battery exploding issues which did shake things up a bit but still resulted in one of the most profitable years for Samsung with the S7 series.
