Android Oreo adoption rate is slowly increasing with year end, many manufacturers have already revealed list of phones eligible for android update. Xiaomi is amongst the OEMs which have not yet published any such list, recently company rolled out Oreo Beta update for Mi A1 which is maiden Android One device from company till date and recently company also announced Oreo Alpha testing (MIUI China ROM) for Mi Mix 2. Now, Xiaomi is looking for Beta Testers for Oreo based MIUI Global ROM for Mi 6 on MIUI Global Forum.

Xiaomi announced the Mi 6 back in April in China running MIUI 8 on top of Android Nougat, sadly the device never made its way to India. If you own a Mi 6 and are a active user on MIUI Global forum, you can apply here for Mi 6 Oreo Beta testing. Oreo-based MIUI Global Beta is expected to hit Mi 6 in a week after selection of Beta testers, but Oreo-based MIUI Global Stable ROM will hit devices couple of months later.

Apart from Oreo Beta for Mi 6, the company is also looking for MIUI Global Beta ROM testers for Redmi Note 5A and Redmi Note 5A Prime which were launched as Redmi Y1 Lite and Redmi Y1 in India. In case you own any of the two devices, you can apply here. However, it seems that MIUI Global Beta ROM for Redmi Note 5A and 5A Prime will be based on Nougat only at least for now as nothing is mentioned about the Android version in the post.

Users from all regions can apply for Beta testing but they are supposed to flash MIUI Global Beta ROM on their device which can be done using Updater method or Fastboot Flash method. Users are also supposed to install an instant messenger QQ to discuss bugs with other testers and team, Deadline for applying for the above mentioned devices is 26th December and users will be notified by 29th December regarding their selection.
