Maruti Suzuki cars with SmartPlay infotainment system get Android Auto update

Maruti Suzuki has started rolling out Android Auto as part of an update to its SmartPlay infotainment system. The automakers latest models – Ignis and Dzire, already came with Android Auto. Maruti had introduced the SmartPlay infotainment system with Ciaz and that was later expanded to Ertiga, Vitara Brezza and the S-Cross. These cars will now get the Android Auto update.

Nubia has launched M2, it’s latest top-end smartphone in the ‘M Series’ in India, soon after the launch of the Nubia N2 smartphone in the country. It was announced back in March this year and packs a dual 13-megapixel rear cameras with 0.1 second PDAF and Contrast Hybrid Focus along with a 16-megapixel front camera. It has a 5.5-inch 1080 AMOLED 2.5D curved glass screen, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 Mobile Platform and has a fingerprint sensor on the front, but it still runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Samsung Galaxy S8+ 6GB RAM, 128GB storage version gets a price cut in India, now available for Rs. 70900

Samsung launched 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version of the Galaxy S8+ smartphone in India last month for Rs. 74,900, about Rs. 10,000 more than the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version of the phone. According to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, the phone has received a Rs. 4000 price cut, in just a month of launch. Microsoft to lay off 3,000 jobs as part of major reorganization

Samsung’s earnings guidance for Q2 2017 reveals record profits

Samsung has posted its earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2017, which reveals that it will post an all time high 13.9 ~ 14.1 trillion Korean won (US$12.1 billion approx.) in operating profits for the quarter, 72% up from a year earlier. This will beat the 10.16 trillion won (~US$9.6 billion) that it posted back in Q3 2013. Last quarter it posted operating profit of 9.9 trillion won (about $8.7 billion) on revenue of 50.55 trillion won.

Vivo just announced X9s and X9s Plus, the company’s flagship smartphones and the successors of last year’s  X9 and X9 Plus in the ‘X series’ in China. Both the phones have a 20-megapixel front-facing camera along with a 5-megapixel camera for capturing depth information when shooting selfies. The company says that you can adjust f/0.95 to f/16 equivalent aperture. Both the phones have a 16-megapixel rear camera. The X9s Plus also has RK1608 DSP for processing RAW captures.
