PUBG Lite shuts down officially worldwide

As announced earlier PUBG has shut down the PUBG Lite PC game official yesterday, April 29th, 2021. It said that it was a difficult decision to close service after much deliberation. lite.pubg.com webpage was closed back in March 29th and the player support for LITE will not be available starting from May 29th. Worldwide Tablet shipments grow 55.2% YoY, Chromebook shipments grow 357% YoY in Q1 2021

The Online mode of education has become the norm for many schools and education institutions around the world. As a result, the market for Tablets and Chromebooks have seen massive growth numbers in the past year alone. During Q1, 2021, the worldwide tablet shipments was recorded at 39.9 million units, which calculates to a growth of 55.2% YoY. The Chromebook market recorded a growth too, shipping 13 million units in Q1, 2021.

realme today introduced  the realme Watch 2, the company’s latest smartwatch in Malaysia. It has a 1.4-inch touch color LCD screen with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 100+ stylish live watch faces with realme Link app. It has 24-hour heart rate monitoring and can also detect blood oxygen level. The smartwatch supports 14 sports mode and will get 90 sports modes via  an OTA update, said the company. realme has introduced its Buds Q2 headset, successor to last year’s Buds Q in Pakistan after it got certified earlier this year. This has Environmental noise cancellation for calls, 10mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.0 with AAC codec, and 88ms super low-latency gaming mode compared to 119ms in the predecessor. It has a kaleidoscope-like finish on the outside that looks attractive and comes with touch controls. Microsoft Store reduces commission for PC games from 30% down to 12%

In a blog post, the Head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty, has announced that the Microsoft Store will soon reduce their commission for in-store purchases to 12%. Microsoft is also working on upgrading the Store in the coming months with more features, and has promised to improve install reliability and download speeds.

Worldwide smartphone market record 345.5 million shipments, 25.5% YoY growth in Q1 2021: IDC

Smartphone vendors shipped nearly 346 million devices during first quarter of 2021, according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. The strong growth came from all regions with the greatest gains coming from China and Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan and China), said the report. As the two largest regions globally, accounting for half of all global shipments, these regions experienced 30% and 28% year-over-year growth, respectively. LG Q1 2021 earnings: Highest quarterly revenue and first quarter operating profit

LG Electronics today reported Q1 2021 earning results that ended March 31, 2021 for which is reported revenue of 18.81 trillion won (US$ 16.90 billion), up 27.69% YoY and the highest quarterly results in the company’s history with 1.51 trillion won operating profit, up 39% YoY, which is a first-quarter record for the company. This is due to strong LG home appliances and home entertainment product sales as consumers around the world continue to spend more time at home. Samsung’s Q1 2021 profits up 40.3% YoY, mobile profits up 65.6% YoY due to strong sales of Galaxy S21 series

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q1 2021 that ended March 31, 2021 in which the company has made an operating profit of 9.38 trillion won, up 40.3% YoY. This is due to solid sales of smartphones and consumer electronics that outweighed lower earnings from semiconductors and displays. Apple reports $23.6 billion profit on $89.6 billion revenue in FY Q2 2021; iPhone revenue up 65% YoY

Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $89.6 billion, an increase of over $31 billion or 54% from a year ago. It posted a net profit of $23.6 billion, up 29.7% YoY and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $1.40 for the financial year Q2 2021 that ended March 27, 2020.  International sales accounted for 67% of the quarter’s revenue. Get Android 11 on POCO F1 with OxygenOS Port

POCO F1, launched back in 2018, has almost reached EOL in terms of official software support. The smartphone has already received two major Android version upgrades – Android 9, and Android 10 since its launch. Though POCO F1 is expected to receive MIUI 12.5 update in the next couple of months, it will remain on Android 10.
