Nokia 5800 is selling like hot cakes but this does not stop the phone maker from introducing the Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition. I used to watch this series on TV when I was a kid and was a huge fan of it .

The handset comes loaded with Star trek content and would be exclusively available at Phones 4U starting May 1st 2009.

Nokia 5800 v21 Firmware Change Log

We just posted the new v21 Firmware for Nokia 5800

My Buddy GerryMoth at NokiaAddict has posted a rather interesting change log he discovered while updating his Nokia 5800 to the v21 firmware

1. Quicker booting up – It seems to let you ‘take control’ a lot quicker than before.
2. As mentioned before you can make the menu button ‘breathe’ when the phone is in standby. It will flash twice if there is a missed call, message or email.
3. Music Player is showing BIG cover art – something that annoyed me in V20 was the fact the cover art was shrunk.
4. No longer switches predictive text off after you’ve used the Full Screen QWERTY keyboard and gone back to the regular keypad.
5. ‘Applications’ has been renamed ‘Apps’ – ‘Music Player’ is now ‘Music plyr.’ (These could be due to it using HK firmware?!) Continue reading “Nokia 5800 v21 Firmware Change Log”

Nokia to host Cricket Match at Mt. Everest

Nokia is hosting a Cricket Match on top of Mt. Everest as a part of Nokia Maps Everest Test

The match would be a Twenty20 match and will happen on April 21st at an altitude no team sporting event  has ever take place  (except air diving ).

The Teams Team Hillary and Team Tenzing will be using Nokia N79s and N85s to record their progress with Nokia Maps and Sports Tracker –  from their heart rate to daily blog entries.

The team members will also be teaching cricket to kids in a village called Khumjung, and donating their kit.

Mobile Stores to start selling Nokia E75 next week

Finally the phone was made official at MWC 09 at Barcelona this February ..

The price of the phone is expected to be Rs.23500 according to the dealer . Not yet confirmed though

The pricing seems perfect as E71 is retailing at just a few thousands away

If you can’t wait to check out the e75 check out the unboxing and the camera samples

This phone reminds me a lot of the HTC G1 in terms of design which is the first google android phone .

But this one is tad heavier and can replace your paper weights !

We are excited about this device since its the first Windows Mobile 6 device we are playing with.

Nokia Flagship Store in Chicago

I had a chance to visit the Nokia Flagship store in Chicago last year.

There are only 2 such stores in all of the USA – Chicago and New York City.

If you are a die hard fan of Nokia, then you MUST visit this place if you happen to visit any of the two cities.

The ambiance is just brilliant ! Its like a jewelery shop with all the diamonds in glass casings. Here the diamonds are Nokia Mobile phones .. You can find several colors of the same popular model on display. And the best part is that the phones work and you are allowed to use them.

Courteous and friendly Nokia staff help and guide you to check all the handsets. I showed my E71 and N82 (my digicam) to an attendant and he was surprised and asked me if I was crazy about Nokia handsets
