Gionee has announced that it will introduce M7, the company’s new smartphone in the ‘M series’ in China soon. It said that the phone will have full screen display with ultra narrow bezels, similar to its teaser.

Alcatel has announced A7, A7 Plus in the ‘A series’ and Idol 5 smartphone in the ‘Idol series’ at the IFA 2017. The A7 XL has 12-megapixel rear camera with secondary 2-megapixel camera to capture depth information and has a 6-inch 1080p screen. Both the A7 and and A7 XL have a 4000mAh battery with support for fast charging. The Idol 5 is a cheaper version of the Idol 5S that was introduced in the U.S. back in June. CAT S31 and CAT S41 rugged Android smartphones, Caterpillar T20 rugged Windows 10 tablet announced
Cat phones, popular for its rugged phones at the IFA introduced two new rugged smartphones – S31 and S41 and Caterpillar T20 rugged Windows 10 tablet. The Cat 31, successor of Cat 30 has a 4.7-inch HD screen and a 4000mAh battery, while the Cat C41, successor of Cat C40 has a 5-inch 1080p screen and packs a 5000mAh battery. ACT Fibernet launches 150Mbps plans in Bengaluru, upgrades existing plans at no extra cost
ACT (Atria Convergence Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) has upgraded its plans for Bengaluru again, after an upgrade earlier this year. It recently launched 150 Mbps plans first time in the city, and all the existing 100Mbps plans have been upgraded to 150Mbps plans. Other plans have also been upgraded in both speed and FUP at no additional cost. Speed after FUP in these plans remain the same.

ZOPO P5000 with 18:9 display and Z5000 with 5000mAh battery, dual rear cameras announced
ZOPO at the IFA 2017 last week announced P5000 and Z5000, two new mid-range smartphones. Both these have a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX258 sensor along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera to capture depth information and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with soft LED flash. These are powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 SoCs, have 4GB of RAM, run Android 7.0 (Nougat), feature unibody metal design and pack a 5000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. After leaks, Samsung Galaxy J7+ has gone official in Thailand. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by a 2.39GHz Octa-Core processor, which will likely be MediaTek Helio P20 and runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera with f/1.9 aperture to capture depth information. Huawei at the IFA 2017 announced its flagship Kirin 970 10nm SoC with a dedicated neural network processing unit. At the end of the event it also confirmed that the Mate 10 series – Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro powered by Kirin 970 will be announced at an event in Munich, Germany on October 16th. Huawei Kirin 970 10nm SoC with dedicated neural network processing unit announced
Huawei at the IFA 2017 announced Kirin 970, its next-generation processor of high-end devices and the world’s first mobile SoC with dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It is an Octa-Core SoC with four ARM Cortex A73 Cores clocked up to 2.4GHz and four ARM Cortex A53 Cores clocked up to 1.8 GHz, similar to the Kirin 960, but this is built on 10nm TSMC process technology compared to 16nm FinFET process in the predecessor and has a faster ARM Mali-G72MP12 GPU. Xiaomi Dual Camera smartphone launching in India on September 5 will be Flipkart exclusive
Earlier this week Xiaomi announced a launch event in New Delhi on September 5th to introduce a new flagship dual camera smartphone. Today the company said that the smartphone will be available in India exclusively on Flipkart. It also engaged in a twitter conversation today with celebrities Parineeti Chopra, Daboo Ratnani, Ayushman Khurana and Hardik Pandeya.

JioPhone bookings crossed 6 million within a day
Reliance Jio unveiled its JioPhone at the 40th AGM in July and the pre-bookings for the phone began August 24th at 5:30PM. Bookings for the phone crossed 3 million in a couple of hours after the bookings opened even though there were issues booking online and through MyJio app. In 24 hours bookings for the phone crossed 6 million through online and offline channels, according to a person familiar with the matter.
