Motorola confirms Android 8.0 Oreo update for range of smartphones

Google started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for Pixel and Nexus devices starting from last month. HTC, Sony and Nokia already confirmed list of devices that will get the Oreo update, Moto has officially announced the list of smartphones that will get the Android 8.0 update. This includes the Moto Z series, Moto X4 and Moto G5 series. Sadly the Moto G4 series and older Moto X series are not there in the list.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 global roll out begins starting from 42 countries

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note8 smartphone last month, and as promised, it has started rolling out the smartphone globally from today in 42 countries including the US, Canada, Singapore, Korea and major European markets. Nokia 2 budget 4G smartphone with 4000mAh battery surfaces in press image

HMD Global is all set to introduce Nokia 2 (TA-1029) smartphone soon. FCC certification revealed the image of the phone recently and it was revealed in the latest FCC listing that the phone will pack a 4000mAh battery. Now Evan Blass aka @evleaks has posted a clear press image of the phone in Black and Silver colors. This shows on-screen buttons for the phone, even though there is a huge bezel below the screen.

Huawei RNE-AL00 with 5.9-inch Full HD+ 18:9 full screen display with minimal bezels and dual front and rear cameras got certified by TENAA earlier this week. Now the company has sent out invites for the announcement of the phone in China on September 22nd, which will be  Maimang 6, successor of last year’s Maimang 5. @evleaks has also posted press shots of the phone.

Specifications of HTC Ocean Life, upcoming mid-range smartphone surfaced back in July. Now the same HTC tipster LlabTooFeR has shared that the phone will also be released under Android One program. He also said that the phone will lose most of the HTC apps and run stock Android 8.0 (Oreo) with Sense 9.0_A1, but it will have EdgeSense, USonic, Zoe and HTC Camera. Apple unveiled iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, the company’s next-generation iPhones earlier this week. Apple doesn’t mentions battery capacity for the iPhones on its site, and we usually find those details later on certification sites or in teardowns. Now both the phones have been certified by TENAA in China revealing smaller battery capacities compared to predecessors, even though the new ones have become heavier and slightly thicker, probably due to glass back and other new materials. Google has finally started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel and Nexus devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. It is not available for Nexus Player yet. The latest update this month fixes several critical issues, including issues in Framework, Libraries, Media framework, several components and more.
