Acer unveils Liquid Z2 and Liquid E1 smartphones with Android 4.1


Acer has unveiled 2 new smartphones Liquid Z2 and Liquid E1 for the European markets. The Liquid E1 was formally announced last month, now the company has announced it for the European markets. The Liquid Z2 has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Intex Aqua Style with 5.9-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor launched for Rs. 11200

Intex has launched the Aqua Style, a new Android smartphone in the Aqua series with a 5.9-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).  It has a 8MP auto focus camera with LED flash at the back and a 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calling. It comes with Nimbuzz, Facebook, WhatsApp and more pre-loaded applications. Other features include, face unlock, flip mute, pattern lock security, smart screen capture, music player with 3D equalizer, file manager and more. Qualcomm releases Snapdragon BatteryGuru app for Android

Xiam Technologies Limited, a division of Qualcomm has released Battery Guru (Beta) application for Android that promises to extend the battery life on the Snapdragon-powered Android devices by optimizing the device functionality. It doesn’t require manual configuration and runs in the background. After the 2 to 4 day introduction period, it learns the user’s behaviors and then notifies that it is ready to extend the battery life. Ubuntu for Tablets announced, Developer Preview for Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 coming on February 21

Canonical has announced the Ubuntu for Tablets. It has unique side stage that places a phone and a tablet app on the same screen at the same time, providing true multitasking capabilities. Other main features include, secure multi-user support with full encryption, Voice controlled HUD, edge magic for navigation between apps, settings and controls. Ubuntu for phones was announced last month, and the developer preview for Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 are expected later this week. HTC One with 4.7-inch 1080p Display and UltraPixel Camera announced

HTC has finally announced the HTC One, their new flagship Android smartphone. It has a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with the new HTC Sense UI and HTC BlinkFeed. It has an UltraPixel camera on the back with LED Flash and a 2.1MP HD front-facing camera with 88 wide angle lens with HDR capability. It comes with Beats audio support, Dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers and dual microphones.

NVIDIA unveils Tegra 4i with integrated LTE, quad-core A9 R4 CPU, 60 GPU Cores

NVIDIA has announced the Tegra 4i, their first quad-core mobile processor integrated with LTE capabilities. NVIDIA unveiled the Tegra 4 with 72 GPUs cores and 4 ARM A15 CPU cores at the CES 2013 last month. It had optional Icera i500 modem, but the Tegra 4i comes with the integrated i500 modem. The Tegra 4i has 60 GPUs cores, 4 ARM A9  r4 CPU cores with clock speeds up to 2.3 GHz per core. They also promise long battery life with the fifth battery saver core. Swipe Telecom has launched the Fablet F3 and Fablet F2, two new Android smartphones with a 5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) Capacitive multi-touch Touch display. The Swipe Fablet F3 is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), and the Swipe Fablet F2 is powered by a 1 GHz single-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Karbonn A12 with 4.5-inch display, 1 GHz processor now available for Rs. 7699

Karbonn A12, a new Android Smartphone is now available from online retailers Saholic and Flipkart in India. It has a 4.5-inch (854 ×480 pixels) FWVGA capacitive touch sceen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), similar to the Karbonn A21 that was launched last year. The A12 is powered by a 1 GHz processor. It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. It also comes with dual SIM support with dual standby. Samsung Galaxy Camera Wi-Fi-only version announced

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Camera (Wi-Fi). It comes with similar features of the original Galaxy Camera that was announced at IFA, Berlin last August, but it lacks the SIM card slot for 4G LTE/3G connectivity and would be much affordable. The Galaxy Camera was launched in India last November, and we reviewed it at the end of November. Samsung rolled out the Android 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy Camera earlier this year. Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the International Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) starting from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Germany. Samsung confirmed back in December that the Galaxy Note would get the multi-screen / multi-window feature in the Android 4.1 update. The Samsung Galaxy S2 got the Jelly Bean update last month. Pantel Technologies has launched T-Pad WS707C, their new tablet with built-in SIM card slot for voice calling and 2G connectivity. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display with and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 processor. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and comes with WiFi and 3G support via USB Dongle for data connectivity. It has a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. The company launched Penta T-Pad WS802C-2G, a 8-inch Android tablet with Voice calling last year.
