Xiaomi introduced MIUI 7 back in August at the Redmi Note 2 launch event back in August. It released global beta ROMs and over-the-air (OTA) updates for smartphones running on developer version at the end of August, as it promised at the launch event. Today it has announced that MIUI 7 global stable version will roll out from October 27, 2015. It will also be released for the Chinese version of the smartphones from the same date. These smartphones were announced at the IFA last month, run on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), have dual SIM support and come with 4G connectivity with support for LTE bands for India. HTC has announced One A9, the company’s first One A series smartphone. It has a 5-inch full HD AMOLED, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 617 processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with HTC Sense UI on top. HTC says that the unlocked version will get Android updates within 15 days once Google pushes out the update for the Nexus devices. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) that improves camera’s focus, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), RAW image capture and an Ultrapixel front-facing camera. ACT (Atria Convergence Technologies Pvt. Ltd.), popular for its Fiber Optic broadband has revised their tariffs for their ACT Fibernet customers in Chennai. It revised tariffs and introduced new plans for Fibernet customers in Hyderabad recently. In Chennai 100Mbps plan now costs Rs. 1,999. Previously 100Mbps plan was only available for SOHO (Small office / Home Office) customers. The base ACT Blaze plan for Rs. 999 now offers 40Mbps speed with 50GB FUP and there is new 75Mbps ACT Thunder plan for Rs. 1,499 with 125GB FUP limit. There is no change in speed post the FUP limit in retail plans, now all SOHO plan customers now get 2Mbps speed post FUP. YU is expected to launch its flagship YU YUTOPIA smartphone later this month.
