Google updated Google+ for Android and Web with Auto Awesome Stories feature last month. Today, Google is bringing the same feature to iOS devices. The update comes at the time when Apple has announced iOS 8, latest software update for the iPhone and iPad.

Dell announces new Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets with Android 4.4 KitKat

Dell has unveiled two Android tablets that are an upgrade to its Venue series at the Computex. Dubbed as Venue 7 and Venue 8, the tablets run on latest Android KitKat 4.4 and starts at US$159 and US$199 respectively.

ASUS unveils Transformer Book V, a 5-in-1 hybrid with Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4

ASUS has taken wraps off another of its hybrid devices at the ongoing Computex in Taipei. The company has announced the Transformer Book V, a 5 in 1 device which can be used as a phone, tablet and laptop running on Android and Windows.

Nokia acquires mapping start-up Desti to boost HERE Maps

In a bid to enhance its HERE Map offering, Nokia has bought Desti for an undisclosed sum. The mapping startup and app maker uses artificial intelligence and natural language processing to generate more personalized location searches and maps. Desti app is based out of the same research center as Siri and Nuance.

Motorola Mobility to shut down Texas smartphone factory

Motorola Mobility will shut down its smartphone factory at Fort Worth, Texas by the end of this year. According to the Wall Street Journal, the plant which was opened in May 2013 had 3,800 workers, which has now reduced to 700 employees. The factory primarily assembled the Moto X, Motorola’s high-end smartphone.

Google to reportedly debut Android TV with ‘Pano’ UI at I/O this month

We have heard rumors about Google working on an entertainment platform like Android TV for quite some time now. However, according to a new report from GigaOm, Google will introduce the Android TV at the I/O conference this month. The report claims that the new platform will be a revamped version of Google TV platform and will focus mainly on bringing online media content and Android gaming to televisions rather than concentrating on the ‘apps for TV’.

HP SlateBook 14-inch Android laptop goes official

HP has announced a 14 inch Android powered laptop that is dubbed as SlateBook PC. Priced at $399, the laptop has a 14-inch FHD (1080p) touchscreen display with NVIDIA Tegra 4 under the hood. It is 16 millimeters thick and weighs just around 3.75 pounds (1.7 kg). The SlateBook 14 laptop was first leaked online in April this year.

Intel joins hands with Rockchip to develop low-cost chips for Android tablets

In a bid to boost sales of low-end Android tablets, Intel has teamed up with Chinese mobile chipmaker Rockchip. Under the agreement, the chipmakers signed an agreement to jointly offer a quad-core processor and integrated modem called SoFIA, which will be available in the first half of 2015, said Intel in an official release.
