ZTE has announced that it is expected to nearly double its profits in 2014. The Chinese telecom equipment maker’s guidance issued for 2014 shows 94.2% higher net profit of 2.64 billion yuan ($424 million).

Samsung Galaxy S6 variant to come with dual edge display: Report
New day new report about the Samsung Galaxy S6. Today, SamMobile is stating that the Galaxy S6 variant will have a two edge display resembling the one side edge display on Note Edge.

The Galaxy S6 that has the model number SM-G925 is being called as Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge for now. If the phone becomes a reality, the phone will be like the Note Edge only with curved edges on both the sides instead of one. The phone will utilize similar interface for its side panels similar to the Note Edge. It will have the ability to display panels from Yahoo! Finance, news, sports, a briefing panel, and even a pedometer panel. It will also display favorite apps, contacts, and more specially designed apps will be created and available for download via Samsung’s app store.
It is also said that Samsung will allow users to customize contacts with specific colors so that their notifications appear more prominently on the edge. The Glance Lighting feature will allow for the edges to light up whenever there’s an incoming call. Yesterday, it was reported that the Galaxy S6 will opt for a touch based fingerprint scanner instead of swipe based.

Wikipedia for Android gets Material Design features
Wikipedia has updated its Android app with Material Design features. The latest update brings a refreshed look to the app and improves the UI and search.

First up, the app puts more focus on images and articles now feature a contextual header image and tapping other pictures displays them in a pop-up with a caption. Users will not need to text re-size in order to match their device as images expand and fit to your screen in a tap. Now a;; galleries of images are organized in a swiping format.
‘Read More’ section at the end of each page will show links related to the article. The search functionality has been improved and includes more defined and higher contrast search bar and a list of recently searched topics. Finally, the latest update adds an image viewer that allows users to view a larger version of any image via a pop-up panel (image appears unobscured if tapped on) and swipe left or right to view the previous or next image.
