Xiaomi today announced that it has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft to collaborate in cloud computing, artificial intelligence and the development of equipment for use with notebook computers. The companies will also collaborate in personal assistants using their own existing devices, including Microsoft’s Cortana.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India last week, which went on sale today for the first time on Flipkart as well as Mi.com and was sold out within minutes. At the launch Xiaomi promised to bring Face unlock that will be available via OTA update by the end of March, but today as a surprise the company rolled out the Face unlock feature for the phone via an OTA update. Xiaomi launched the the Mi TV 4 for the first time in India last week at a price of Rs. 39,999 . It went on sale in the country today at 2PM. Xiaomi has announced that the TV got huge response from the customers, which was sold out in less than 10 seconds on Flipkart and Mi.com. However the company did not share the number of TVs sold during the sale, unlike it did for the Redmi Note 5 smartphones. Some users said that it sold out before they could see the buy button. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in India last week, which went on sale exclusively on Flipkart as well as Mi.com today at 12 noon. Manu Jain, Group Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India just said that the company sold over 3 lakh units of the smartphones under 3 minutes, selling 1 lakh units per minute. In comparison, last year the company sold 2.5 lakh Redmi Note 4 smartphones in 10 minutes in its first sale. A new smartphone codenamed Blackshark has surfaced on AnTuTu, revealing that it is a top-end smartphone. This hints that it could be Black shark technology incorporated, in which Xiaomi has invested. The company’s website shows that it has been established in August 2017 and its weibo account reveals that it is a mobile phone maker. The teaser on its website shows some kind of a gaming device.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 smartphone in India last week. We recently brought you the unboxing and first impressions of the smartphone, here we have the camera samples from the phone. The Redmi Note 5 has a 12-megapixel rear camera with 5-element lens, f/2.2 aperture and large 1.25μm pixel size, compared to 1.12μm pixel size on the Redmi Note 4. It also comes with dual-tone LED flash. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and selfie flash.

Earlier this week design sketch and render of the Mi MIX 2S surfaced. Now more specifications of the phone has surfaced, thanks to Mi Mix 2S firmware files that XDA-Developers got hold of. Xiaomi today launched the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in India at an event in Delhi. At the launch the company announced that it has partnered with Reliance Jio to give the Biggest Jio offer ever to the Note 5 and Note 5 Pro users to its customers. The company had first partnered with Jio for Redmi 5A last year that offered Rs. 1000 cashback to the buyers.

Hyperbole aside, it really is true that there is a lot of hype around the company’s televisions. Xiaomi just launched the the company’s Mi TV in India, as expected. It was introduced at the CES 2017 and was launched in China in May last year. IT has a 4K panel with support for HDR. It has a 4.9mm slim frameless design and comes with Patch Wall, a UI layer on top of the Android OS that’s based on deep learning AI technology that can curate content based on recommendations. Say what you will, it was the Redmi series that put Xiaomi on the map in India. Striking the perfect balance between performance, battery life and price, the Redmi series hit it out of the park and developed a massive following. Over the last few generations, Xiaomi focussed on perfecting the formula and the end result was the Redmi Note 4.
