Airtel may stop 3G services in 7 circles by the end of this month

The Department of Telecom (DoT) may ask Bharti Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles in India, according to a recent report by Economic Times. DoT had already sent a notice to Airtel to stop their 3G services in these 7 circles including, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh (East), Kolkata, Gujarat, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. GoCarz partners with Airtel to offer free in-cab Internet

GoCarz, Radio Taxi Service in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) has entered into a deal with Airtel to offer free Wi-Fi for the passengers travelling in their Cabs. This would let the customers stay in touch with their work and friends on their mobile phone or laptops while travelling. GoCarz already provides a bottle of water and free newspaper to the customers once they enter the car. Winknet MF50 3G Pocket Wi-Fi Router Review

Winknet launched the MF50 3G Pocket Wi-Fi Router, earlier this month in India. It is manufactured by ZTE and has HSPA support up to 14.4 Mbps download and 5.76 Mbps upload speeds. It has a LCD display, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n & WPS support that lets you connect up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices and comes with a 1500 mAh battery. Since it was originally launched in July for BSNL with bundled plans, the box has BSNL branding. Tata Docomo launched 3G Wi-Fi Hub last year at a similar price, but it offers download speeds only up to 7.2 Mbps and lets you share the connection only with 5 WiFi-enabled devices. Huawei E355 3G data card launched in India for Rs. 5499

Huawei has launched E355 3G Data Card in India. It is the World’s 1st Data Card with Wi-Fi for 5 at the same time. TRAI issues draft regulations on Quality of Service for mobile data services


The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released draft regulations on Standards of Quality of Service for Mobile Data Services Regulations. There is no quality of service standards for the mobile data services compared to wired Internet such as broadband. TRAI has decided to benchmark the quality of service parameters for mobile data services such as 2G, 3G and the 4G LTE services based on BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) spectrum. Vodafone officially announces new 3G data plans


Vodafone has officially announced its new 3G data plans. Vodafone reduced its 3G tariffs for pre-paid customers last month, but the plans were not clear. Later they announced post-paid 3G plans that were applicable only in select circles. These new plans start from Rs. 25 for 25 MB data usage and go up to Rs. 1599 for 12 GB of data usage. MTNL Mumbai revises 3G tariffs, launches new plans


MTNL Mumbai has revised their old 3G tariffs and have also launched new plans for both pre-paid and post-paid customers. The Rs. 99 plan now offers 300 MB of 3G data, Rs. 250 offers 1.1GB of 3G data, Rs. 450 plan offers 2.2 GB of data and the Rs 750 plan offers 4.4 GB that are valid for 30 days.
