Nokia Pro Cam on the Lumia 925 – a Walkthrough

Much has been said about the Nokia Lumia 1020 and its amazing camera prowess, but what made it fun was using the camera interface. Yes, the interface, also known as the Nokia Pro Cam, provided the much needed control and versatility for the robust camera hardware that Nokia packed in the Lumia 1020. But the other PureView devices are no exception either and Nokia made sure that 920, 925 and 928 users get the Pro Cam, and eventually they did. We immediately installed it onto the Nokia Lumia 925 and found it to work really well, just like how we found it on the Lumia 1020 earlier. Sony Xperia S, SL and acro S get a new update with performance and stability improvements

Sony Mobile has announced that they have started rolling out a new software update (v6.2.B.1.96) for the Sony Xperia S, SL and acro S that brings lot of performance and stability tweaks / improvements. Sony says that they have received lot of feed back regarding issues in the recent Android 4.1 build that started rolling out back in May. Sony announced the list of high-end devices that would get the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update and promised that they would roll out the updates faster. Chrome Beta v30 for Android brings new gesture navigation, better image search and more

Google has updated the Chrome Beta for Android to version 30 that brings a lot of new features including option to right-click an image to do an image search, new gestures to switch tabs, lot of new API support for users and developers. Asphalt 8: Airborne for Android now available for Download

Gameloft released the Asphalt 8: Airborne, the new game in the Asphalt series for iPhone and iPad earlier today. The game is now available for download for Android devices. The new game offers even more challenges, more cars, all new maps and the most life-like graphics ever with the new physics engine that would give you a realistic feel when you pull death-defying stunts, destroy objects in your path, and catch major air off ramps. Google Search for Android gets new Google Now Cards, remind me feature in search and more

Google has started rolling out a new update for Google Search for devices running on Android 4.1 and later. This brings lot of new cards including Car rentals card, Concert ticket card, Commute sharing card and lots more. This also has improved public transit cards that now informs about last train or bus. Asphalt 8: Airborne from Gameloft that was announced back in June, is now available for iPhone and iPad at just $0.99. The Android version is expected to release later today. Gameloft has promised that the game would be available for Windows Phone 8 later this year. SwiftKey 4.2 for Android with SwiftKey Cloud released

SwiftKey 4.2 is now available for Android phones and tablets from the Google Play Store . The SwiftKey 4 Beta was launched in July and it was updated last week with fixes and improvements. SwiftKey Cloud offers backup and sync that back up the words and phrases so that you can sync it when you move to a new device. The trending phrases feature analyses treding topics online and Twitter to automatically auto complete it as you type. SwiftKey 4.2 would be available as a free update to all the existing users and the company is running launch offer that lets you get the keyboard at 50% off. TomTom Navigation with fully offline maps arrives for Android in India

TomTom is a well known navigation solutions provider and can be spotted in most automobiles fitted with a navigation system, be it cars or even public transport. It is also widely known that mobile phones have made specialized navigation devices a bit redundant by offering excellent capabilities for everyone that owns a smartphone. TomTom has previously released its navigation apps on all mobile platforms, but they have seen a staged roll out in terms of countries, and now it is finally available for India’s Android devices.

HTC One 4.2.2 Jellybean Update: What’s new?

The HTC One was announced way back in February and it finally launched in India during May. The HTC One was launched on Android 4.1.2 and it got the Android 4.2.2 update back in July. The update is available both as OTA(Over-the-air) and via PC Companion. The size of the update is 436MB and it comes with a whole bunch of features.

Microsoft has updated its Fresh Paint app to version 1.0.3255.1 that brings support to Windows Phone 8 devices with 512 MB RAM. Microsoft launched the Fresh Paint, a free digital painting app last month. The app was originally released for Windows 8 . This app lets you create original artwork by starting with a blank canvas or turn photos or images you take using the phone’s camera into beautiful paintings automatically. Xolo X1000 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OTA update now available

Xolo has announced that they have finally started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xolo X1000. It was launched back in March running on Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich). At the time of launch Xolo promised to update the phone to Jelly Bean in a couple of month, the update was expected to launch back in June, but it was delayed. Yahoo Weather for Android

Yahoo! released a new Yahoo! Weather app for iPhone back in April. Now the new weather app is available for Android as an update. This brings lot of new features including weather information and forecasts along with photos that match your location, Interactive radar, satellite, heat, and wind map. It also has new home screen widgets. You can swipe vertically for detailed weather information and swipe horizontally for favorite locations.
