Evernote has updated its iPhone and iPad app to version 7.3.0 that brings a lot of new features including new home screen customization options. Last year it was completely redesigned with a new look inspired from simplified look of iOS 7. The new customizable home screen option lets you Choose Color themes (light, dark and classic green), option to show or hide items from sections, sync status below the Settings gear to view sync progress and more. Bing rewards goes live for iOS and Android, Windows Phone curiously left out

Bing Rewards is a program that Microsoft started, to encourage use of its search engine, so that it could dole out rewards for doing so. It was a desperate, yet successful attempt, as people started using it for gaining credits that could be redeemed at Amazon, Fandango or even get you an Xbox console, just through using the rarely used search engine. Till now, the rewards program was exclusively on the desktop, where one could sign in to Bing and use it to gain rewards, but finally, it is now coming down to mobile, through the Bing mobile apps for iOS and Android. Nope, Windows Phone support is apparently “coming soon”, and we might have reasons why. That aside, the Bing rewards feature will give you certains “tasks” to finish, like a game, and once you finish it, you’ll be rewarded with credits of varying amounts depending on the task.

Back in November HTC promised that it would roll out the Android 4.4 Kitkat update for the HTC One users in EMEA countries (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) starting from January-end. It has kept its promise and has started rolling out the KitKat update in parts of Europe, including Nordic region. The HTC One Google Play Edition got the KitKat update back in November last year. Opera has announced that their Opera Mobile Store has reached 105 million monthly visitors at the end of Q4 2013. It now has over 100 million users globally, with a tremendous growth of 230% annually. It currently offers more than 200,000 mobile apps and games across most mobile platforms, including Android, Java, BlackBerry, Symbian and iOS. Windows Phone 8.1 rumoured to arrive in April

Windows Phone 8.1 codenamed “Blue” has been rumoured for a long time now, ever since Microsoft confirmed the existence of Windows 8.1(also codenamed “Blue”). While Windows 8.1 has seen its release right on time, with a developer preview in June last year and commercial release by October, we are yet to see even a glimpse of Windows Phone 8.1, which we were hoping to be delivered as fast as the first Windows 8 update. Now, fresh rumours from reliable Mary Jo Foley, ZDNet, reveal that Windows Phone is all set for a April reveal, with developers getting the preview first and general availability later. This comes after rumours of a Cortana reveal, which is a virtual assistant and very much a part of Windows Phone that coincides with Microsoft’s developer event at the same time – Build 2014.

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) update for the Galaxy Note 3 in India. The Snapdragon-variant of the Note 3 got the Android 4.4.2 update, starting from Poland last week. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was launched in India back in September last year running on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). All the new Samsung Galaxy TabPRO tablet series runs on Android 4.4 out of the box. Sony releases Xperia Z1’s Timeshift burst app on Google Play, available for select Xperia devices

Sony Mobile has released the Timeshift burst app on Google Play that would let users with select (Xperia Z, Xperia  ZL,  Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia  Tablet Z) Xperia users to use the feature. This app captures 61 frames in 2 seconds starting even before you press the shutter, just like HTC One. Once it is captured, you can scroll back and forth to select the perfect image. VLC media player 2.2 for iPhone and iPad brings iOS 7 UI refresh and new features

Since then the app has been updated gradually, now the app received a major update that brings a new UI for  iOS 7 and a lot of new features including Google Drive integration, Dropbox streaming, better WiFi upload and lots more.
