SwiftKey Greenhouse recently launched a new app called Symbols. It is a symbol-based assistive communication app for Android that targeted at non-verbal individuals with special needs. Yahoo Mail got multiple mailbox support that added Outlook.com, Hotmail, AOL Mail accounts so that users can access Yahoo Mail’s features such as search, smart contacts and auto-suggest, rich compose across all their emails. Apple has named the best iOS apps and games for 2015. This list might vary depending on the country. In the US, Periscope won the best app of the year and Lara Croft Go won the best game of the year. In India, Enlight, stock-trading app is the best app of the year, Periscope is the second runner up and Pacemaker DJ app is the second runner-up. Workflow won the most innovative app, while Instagram is the Best App on the iPhone 6s. ReBoard Keyboard app is the best app of India. Facebook has updated its Android app with new Security Checkup tool that lets you review and add more security to your account. The Facebook Security Checkup tool was introduced for the web in testing back in May and it was expanded worldwide in July. This toll will be available for the iOS app soon, says Facebook. Opera has updated its Opera Mini app for Android to version 13 that brings new download manager so that you can now control the number of files you download simultaneously, get alerts when downloading large files and more. It also gets updated search bar that now lets you select a category for your search results – web, images, video or news – before hitting the Go button. Check out all the new features below.

Samsung has now started rolling out a new update to the Galaxy Note5. The update brings about improvements to the fast charging and also now shows the Android security patch info.
In November, a roadmap for Samsung’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow update had surfaced and it revealed that the Note5 and S6 edge+ would be getting the update sometime in December. One T-Mobile Note5 user even got the update to 6.0 accidentally but both the phones haven’t received the official release yet. However, it seems that Samsung is ready with the update for the Note 4 and they have already begun rolling out the update across some devices.

Facebook has announced that it has started rolling out new live video feature on their iPhone app. This will allow you to share a live feed from the phone’s camera by tapping the Update Status and selecting the Live Video icon. Live video will be available for a small percentage of iPhone users in the US initially before rolling out globally and other platforms, said the company. WhatsApp has added tons of new emojis for its Android app, before Android gets these emojis next week starting from Nexus devices, as announced by Google’s new SVP of Android, Chrome OS and Chromecast, Hiroshi Lockheimer. Ringo launched local and STD calling in India offering users to call any landline or mobile in the country at a flat rate of 19 p/min in partnership with their service providers. Ringo has announced that it has paused its domestic calling service in the country temporarily since local operators may have blocked the service without any notice.
