Micromax‬ Canvas Nitro 4G E455, the latest smartphone in the Canvas Nitro series is now available from Indiatimes Shopping. It packs a 5-inch HD display, similar to first two Nitro smartphones, but this is powered by a 1.4 Octa-Core processor. Image of the retail box posted by Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom says it’s a Snapdragon 400 processor, which is weird since Snapdragon 400 is actually a quad-core 32-bit processor. ZOPO to enter Indian market on August 26 with the launch of Speed 7, expected at Rs. 12999

Chinese smartphone maker ZOPO recently announced that it will foray into the Indian smartphone market on August 26th with the launch of its flagship Speed 7 smartphone in the country. It already announced it has appointed Advantage Computers India Pvt. Ltd. (ADCOM) as Indian distributor and its smartphones will be sold exclusively through an online retailer and also through offline stores in India.

Motorola DROID Maxx 2 and DROID Turbo 2 might be headed to Verizon soon

Apparently Motorola is planning to launch not one but two new handsets on Verizon this year. They are expected to be the DROID Maxx 2 and the DROID Turbo 2. The former is expected to be a mid-range device that is said to be a rebranded version of the Moto X Play.

Uber expands to Guwahati, Nashik, Thiruvananthapuram and Vadodara

Uber has announced that it has expanded its service to four new cities – Guwahati, Nashik, Thiruvananthapuram and Vadodara in India. It expanded to 7 new cities, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Indore, Mysore, Nagpur, Surat and Vizag last month and present in Bangalore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Kolkata and Kochi in India. Oppo has introduced Oppo R5s, an upgraded version of last year’s Oppo R5 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, compared to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It has the same 4.85mm thin body, stainless steel micro-arc frame and still requires an USB-to-3.5mm audio adapter. Other specifications include, 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Color OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 (KitKat), 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. LG has announced LG G Pad II 10.1, the company’s latest Android tablet and the successor of last year’s G Pad 10.1 ahead of IFA 2015. It has a 10.1-inch (1920 x 1200) WUXGA display and runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). LG has decided to go with the old Snapdragon 800 SoC for the tablet. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes in both WiFi and 4G variants. Apple launches global iPhone 6 Plus camera replacement program due to blurry photos in some units

Apple has found that a small percentage of iPhone 6 Plus units that were sold between September 2014 and January 2015 have a manufacturing defect in the rear iSight camera causing blurry images. It has launched a replacement program that would let users with the defect to replace the camera unit. According to 9to5Mac, Apple will only replace the iSight camera component within the iPhone 6 Plus and not hand out new replacement phones.

Xiaomi expanding to Africa in September, partners with a local distributor: Report
