Sony Xperia ZR durable phone that was announced last month is now on pre-order from online retailers Flipkart and Infibeam. It has a 4.55-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) Reality display with mobile Bravia Engine 2 and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has IP55 and IP58 ratings for dust and water resistance. It packs a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and offers underwater image and video capture since it is water resistant up to 1.50 meters for up to 30 minutes.

Google reportedly to buy Waze for $1.3 Bn

Waze is a one-of-a-kind GPS navigation service, in which some real time data depends on crowd sourced data from users all over the world using its app. Recently, Waze touted an impressive number of 50 million users on its service. It has been rumoured for quite some time that Waze has been on sale and many biggies like Facebook, Apple and Google were in talks to acquire the Israeli company. But if the recent reports from Israel are to be believed, Google has apparently won the race and is all prepared to buy Waze for a cool $1.3 Bn, which is more than what Facebook paid for Instagram.

Nokia has announced that the Lumia 925 would go on sale starting today in Germany. It was announced last month. It has a 4.5 inch (1280×768 pixel) AMOLED display and an aluminium frame that makes the phone thinner and lighter. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8.7MP auto focus camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), dual LED flash and 1080p HD video recording at 30fps. Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Ace 3, the company’s latest Android smartphone in the Galaxy series. It is the successor of the Galaxy Ace 2 that was unveiled last year. It has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The device would also come with LTE support in select markets that would have a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal memory and 1800 mAh battery. Alleged photos of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 prototype has surfaced online. Sammobile and Techtastic says that this might not be the final design of the device that is expected to be unveiled at the IFA 2013 in September. Very low quantities for R&D purposes, says Techtastic. It also adds that this phone would have a model number SM-N900, losing it’ last zero unlike the other Galaxy devices. Imangi studios, popular for the Temple Run game has launched the game in partnership with Disney/Pixar. The game released for Android and iOS devices back in June last year. This game would let you Play Temple Run and shoot arrows as Merida in the beautiful world of Disney Pixar’s movie Brave. Jeremiah Wong, a Reddit user, has posted a series of screenshots that are said to be from a Lumia 920 running on pre release software. The handset that was purchased via eBay is running on a software version that identifies itself as 12084.WPMAIN(wpbldlab).20130509-1407. This particular build was compiled on 5th May and has a number of additions that Windows Phone users have been clamoring for.

More images emerged online from a twitter user called Vizileaks that revealed the prototype. Now the user has posted a who preview of the device along with a new video that reveals that the phone would have a mechanical shutter that looks similar to the Nokia 808 PureView. Lava to launch a new Iris smartphone with gesture user interaction in June

Lava has announced that the company plans to launch a new smartphone under the Iris brand that that can communicate with the user even in signs. Lava says, “This cool feature will allow a user to interact with the phone and use the camera with just a swipe of his hand in the air.” The company says that this would be slimmest in its category and run on the latest version of the Android OS, 4.2 obviously. Now the Wireless Charging Cover and Wireless Charging Pad have been priced on the official Samsung eStore.These accessories have also been unveiled yesterday in the U.S. If you already have a Wireless Charging pad, you can get the Charging Cover separately and replace it with the original back cover. It charges wirelessly via electromagnetic field that follow the Qi standard, the global standard for wireless power. The Wireless Charging Kit (Pad + Cover) also comes as a bundle.
