Age of Empires, the classic strategy game that put you in command of your favorite characters from history, is going mobile, with a game titled “Age of Empires: World Domination” for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. This Microsoft title, that has been the rage among RTS online multiplayer geeks for a long time, has gone through many iterations, with the company recently announcing that it will be licensing its franchise for the mobile platforms. As reported earlier, this mobile version takes its form thanks to KLab Global, a game development company that will be doing this port. The game is slated to be available for all the major mobile platforms including iOS, Android and Windows Phone and will ship this summer. Here’s the game trailer –

Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S5 starting from March 29th with cash back offer for Citbank credit card holders. Facebook is being bombarded with a lot of spammy posts that ask the user for engagement like asking them to share the pic, like the pic or comment on it. Facebook has announced that it is planning to punish the publishers for such spammy posts.

As competition in the chipset space increases, its been rumored that LG has plans of their own to bring along an ARM based system on chip dubbed Odin. While rumors have been around for a couple of years now, we finally might have something concrete around the specifics of the chipset. Believed to be based on the big.LITTLE configuration that we talked about a while back, the Odin chipset would pair four Cortex A15 cores clocked at 2.2Ghz each with four Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.7Ghz. iBall has launched Andi 4.5P Glitter, the latest smartphone in the Andi series. It has a 4.5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) FWVGA touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera. It also has 3G connectivity and has dual SIM support, auto call recording and flip to mute features. Google might have sold off Motorola to Lenovo, but is keeping all those patents and research teams close to Mountain View. Motorola’s R&D initially unveiled a concept called “Ara”, the first modular smartphone that has the potential to totally change the way we look at, and buy smartphones. The concept is pretty simple, as it follows the typical “Build you own PC” method, which grants you the flexibility of choice in interesting permutations and combinations. Ara now belongs to Google, and naturally, we are seeing some momentum here, with them announcing a Modular Development Kit, using which hardware manufacturers or “Module Developers” can create different modules that will eventually turn up on your own custom Ara phone.

Facebook has started notifying users in a few European countries that it won’t offer messaging service on Facebook app in two weeks, according to a recent report from The Verge. Facebook users are asked to download the Facebook Messenger app to use messaging service. Facebook released the Messenger app for Windows Phone last month and it is also available for the Nokia X platform. First announced in August 2013, the Moto X finally made its way to Indian shores and hit retail last month. The phone uses a unique chipset that is called the X8 Mobile Computing system that allows it to be contextually aware. Powering the phone is a 1.7Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC with an Adreno 320 GPU. This is paired with two separate co-processor units that are responsible for Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Contextual Awareness. These coprocessors give the Moto X its always listening capabilities that really come into life when combined with Google Now’s contextual capabilities. The COOLPIX S810c has a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor, built-in Xenon flash, 12x optical zoom, f/3.3 – f/6.3 aperture, 3.7 inch 1229k-dot widescreen, TFT LCD display and is powered by a Cortex-A9 processor. Along with the Mailbox app for Android, Dropbox also launched their first Gallery app Carousel for Android and iPhone. This app combines photos and videos in your Dropbox with the photos on your phone, and also automatically backs up new ones as you take them.
