Apple has filed a $1 billion lawsuit against Qualcomm saying that Qualcomm has been charging royalties for technologies they have nothing to do with. Japan Display Inc. (JDI) has announced that it has begun mass production start of 5-inch class (Starting from 5-inch) low temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) LCD module with WQHD (1440×2560 pixels) resolution and over 500 PPI pixel density. JDI said that it has reduced LCD panel power consumption in the WQHD screen by using improved materials to reduce LCD driving frequency from 60Hz to 30Hz depending on the display image signal without affecting the image quality, thus achieving low power.
