OPPO has announced A77, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘A series’ in Taiwan. It has similar specifications as the OPPO F3 that includes a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750T processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with ColorOS 3.0, but this has a single 16-megapixel sensor on the front instead of dual front cameras on the F3. Xiaomi introduced new Mi TV 4 series at the CES 2017 earlier this. It has finally launched these TVs in China that come in 49-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch sizes and have 4K panel with support for HDR. These have a 4.9mm slim frameless design and the top-end 65-inch model also comes with Dolby Atmos audio technology with 2 up-firing speakers, that are basically pointed at the ceiling which reflects the sound to provide a 3-dimensional experience. At the Google I/O 2017 Stephanie Saad Cuthbertson, Director, Product Management Google announced that Android O will bring more fluid experiences, as well as improvements to what the company call “vitals” like battery life and security. Android Vitals focuses on optimizing battery life, start up time, graphic rendering time, and stability. On Google Pixel boot time will be 2x faster in Android O, compared to Android N.

HTC VIVE and Lenovo are developing standalone Google Daydream VR Headsets

Google at the Google I/O 2017 announced its standalone Daydream VR headset, as expected. HTC’s VIVE and Lenovo will be building these headsets that are coming later this year. Google will also create a standalone headset reference design powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 VR platform. Since it is an untethered headset that doesn’t require a smartphone like the first generation Daydream headset, and this comes with positional head-tracking.
