The Android 5.1 update brings new features, functionalities and improved user experience with visual refinements along with the new Emotion UI 3.1 update. Coolpad launched the Note 3 smartphone in India earlier this month for Rs. 8,999. It went on sale on Amazon.in through flash sale at 2PM today. It received over 5 lakh registrations for the sale in just 2 days, said Coolpad. Today the company said that it sold 15,000 units of Note 3 smartphones in less than 5 minutes. ACT (Atria Convergence Technologies Pvt. Ltd.), popular for its Fiber Optic broadband has revised their tariffs for their ACT Fibernet customers in Chennai. It revised tariffs and introduced new plans for Fibernet customers in Hyderabad recently. In Chennai 100Mbps plan now costs Rs. 1,999. Previously 100Mbps plan was only available for SOHO (Small office / Home Office) customers. The base ACT Blaze plan for Rs. 999 now offers 40Mbps speed with 50GB FUP and there is new 75Mbps ACT Thunder plan for Rs. 1,499 with 125GB FUP limit. There is no change in speed post the FUP limit in retail plans, now all SOHO plan customers now get 2Mbps speed post FUP. We already know that OnePlus is holding simultaneous launch events for the OnePlus X launch in New Delhi, New York, San Fransico, London, Beijing, and Jakarta on October 29th. Today the company has started sending out invites for the launch of the OnePlus X smartphone in New Delhi on October 29th at 1:30 PM. The invite is similar to the global invite with letter ‘X’ created by two lights.

YU is expected to launch its flagship YU YUTOPIA smartphone later this month. Rahul Sharma, Co-founder and CEO of YU recently confirmed the YU YUTOPIA smartphone and the Cyanogen Inc. recently confirmed that the smartphone will come with Cyagnogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). Now YU has confirmed that the smartphone will come with a metal body, as rumored earlier. It also shows with chamfered edge. The caption says R.I.P Plastic & Sandstone. True Power Lies in Metal. iBall has launched Slide Avonte 7, the company’s first tablet with a 13-megapixel rotating auto focus camera with LED flash. It has a 7-inch HD display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). iBall launched Andi Avonte 5 Android smartphone with 8MP rotating camera back in June. Lenovo has launched two new smartphones in the A series, a budget smartphone called the A1000 with 3G support and an improved version of the A6000 Plus called the A6000 Shot with a better 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing. It has also launched the K3 Note Music smartphone, which is the same K3 Note smartphone that comes with a ceramic speakers on the back that has Smart PA audio chip and Waves MaxxAudio technology that amplifies the sound and improves the audio. Alcatel has launched its latest camera-centric Flash 2 smartphone in India, as it promised. It packs a 5-inch HD screen, is powered by an Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS. It has a 13-megapixel gSight rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) that would let you focus a subject in just 0.3 seconds. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with soft LED flash for capturing better selfies. Asus has launched new mainstream budget laptop, A553 and performance notebooks – A555LF and A555LA in the A series. All these have 15.6-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) HD displays with Asus Splendid Technology and automatic colour adjustment, are powered by Intel processors and have 4GB of RAM. Apple introduced the iPad mini 4 along with the iPad Air Pro at its event in California last month. Now the tablet is available for purchase from online retailer Infibeam at the same price of last year’s iPad mini 3. The iPad mini 4 has the same 7.9 inch Retina Display with 2048×1536 resolution seen on last year’s iPad mini 3 with Retina Display, but this has Apple A8 chip with M8 motion co-processor. Vodafone already announced that it will launch 4G services in India by December 2015. It also said that Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Kochi circles will get 4G first. Today the operator has announced that it will roll out 4G services in Delhi/NCR region by December 2015. “Key corridors of Delhi/NCR will be part of the first wave of the 4G roll-out, which will be launched across the circle in a phased manner”, said Vodafone. However it didn’t have fast charging as wireless fast charging wasn’t supported until the introduction of the Note5 and S6 edge+ smartphones. Along with them, Samsung introduced a new wireless charging pad that has fast charging capabilities.
