HMD Global introduced the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco and new Nokia 6 Android One smartphones at the MWC 2018 last month. Earlier this week it launched the Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone. Today it has sent out an invite for an event in in India on April 4th where it is expected to introduce the new Android One phones. It is not clear Nokia 8110 feature phone as well. The invite says next milestone of Nokia phones will be unveiled.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, its latest flagship smartphones at an event in India earlier this month in 64GB and 256GB variants starting at Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 64,900, respectively. The phones went on sale with several offers a couple of weeks back. Now the company has started selling the 128GB variants of the phones in the country. Samsung started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for Galaxy Note8 in France recently. Today it has finally started rolling out the update in India. This bring Samsung Experience 9.0 replacing older 8.5 version along with Oreo and brings features like a customizable keyboard, new emoji, stickers, Bixby briefing, new color lens display settings, dual apps, enhanced DeX support, and many more changes. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is all set to introduce face authentication for Aadhaar verification from July 1st. After the Lava Z50 launch last week, Nokia 1 becomes the second Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone to launch in India. It was introduced at the MWC last month and packs a 4.5-inch screen, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek SoC, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo), has 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front-facing shooter and supports 4G VoLTE. Since it is an Android Oreo (Go Edition) phone, it has all the Go Edition apps that are slowing making their way offering smooth experience.

Motorola has been expanding its retail footprint across India rapidly. Earlier this year it opened 50 new Moto Hubs in New Delhi, recently in opened 25 stores in Kolkata, 50 stores in Mumbai and it opened 100 Moto Hub stores in Karnataka earlier this week. Now the company has announced the opening of 100 new Moto Hubs in Tamil Nadu that includes 50 in Chennai, with a focus of strengthening retail store in the southern region.
