Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just launched the Redmi 8A Dual, the company’s latest budget smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.22-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with Dot Notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 SoC with up to 3GB RAM and runs Android Pie with MIUI 11 on top, same as the Redmi 8A. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor, but comes with face unlock. After teasers last week, Amazon.in has confirmed that Galaxy M31, successor of the Galaxy M30s will be launched in India on February 25th. It also confirms that the phone will pack 64MP main camera on the back and will have quad camera arrangement compared to triple cameras on the Galaxy M30 and the M30s. The image also confirms rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

India continues to be the second biggest smartphone market in the world, with over 152 million units that calculates 8.0% year-over-year (YoY) growth, according to IDC. The top 5 smartphone manufacturer who sold the most amount of units in India for 2019 were: Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, OPPO and realme.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s last year in India and the A50s got its first price cut in November 2019. It was available starting at Rs. 19,999 and now again, the Galaxy A50s has got another price cut in India which brings down the starting price to Rs. 17,499.

After teasers Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has confirmed that it will launch a new smartphone in India on February 11th on Amazon.in. Since it has ‘Smart Desh Ka Dumdaar Smartphone’ tag, this will likely be the Redmi 9A, successor of Redmi 8A which was launched back in September last year. In the first set of teasers the company has confirmed dual rear cameras for portrait shots, first in the Redmi A series phone, 5000mAh battery, similar to Redmi 8A, so we can expect Type-C and fast charging as well. It also confirms patterns on the back for a better grip, again similar to the Redmi 8A.
