India smartphone market saw 32.5 million shipments, up 1.5% YoY in Q1 2020: IDC

Being the only one among the top 3 to record a positive growth for the first quarter of 2020, the Indian smartphone market shipped 32.4 million units overall. This calculates to a growth of 1.5% YoY, whereas the Chinese and US markets saw a decline of 20.3% YoY and 16.0% YoY respectively. The top 5 manufacturers continue to be Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, realme and OPPO.

Jio launches new annual plan with 2GB/day data at Rs. 2399 and Work from Home add-on data packs starting from Rs. 151

Reliance Jio offered double data vouchers, free daily data owing to the ongoing nationwide lockdown and on similar lines, now the company has launched a new work from home annual plan and new add-on data packs. This new annual plan offers 33% more benefit compared to the existing annual plan.

Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 launched in India for Rs. 4499

Along with the new Mi 10, Xiaomi also introduced the Mi True Wireless Earphones  2, which is the global version of the Mi AirDots Pro 2 which was introduced in China back in September last year and saw a global launch in May. It comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and LDHC Hi-Res audio codec, smart voice controls, dual microphones for ENC, which is environmental noise cancellation. It also has 14.2mm drivers for better audio output. OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z will go on sale in India from May 10 for Rs. 1999

OnePlus at its flagship OnePlus 8 series launch event introduced its new Bullets Wireless Z Bluetooth headphones.
