A lot has been said already about the Nokia N8 and the C7, the first two Symbian^3 devices that started shipping a few weeks apart from each other; a lot of comparisons have been made, a lot of opinions voiced. I was lucky enough to have used both handsets for a couple of months each, separately, to form my own impression of them, and to have a real world feel of how they compare to each other and how they fit in a daily use scenario. In this post, I will try to answer the dilemma of any buyer who is torn between both handsets.

Tour of Japanese Mobile Market by NTT DOCOMO
Earlier this month, I was off to Japan on invitation from NTT Docomo as a part of the Tata Docomo 3G Life activity. Sounds like fun right ? Excitement is an understatement. I have always been amazed by the Japanese mobile market. Almost all of the products are not available outside the land of the rising sun.I have been very interested in NTT Docomo ever since I saw them at MWC and CommunicAsia. Stuff like Separable Phone and Eye controlled earphones are not something you would expect to see everyday. As you all might know NTT DOCOMO is one of the leading mobile operators in Japan with over 55% market share. The company holds 26% stake in Indian telecom operator Tata Docomo which sparked of the per second billing revolution and became the first private operator to launch 3G services.

iPod Touch 4G vs 3G – Hardware Tour, Size And Retina Display Comparison
It’s only one year ago when I got gifted my 8GB iPod Touch 3rd generation and started discovering and enjoying the world of iOS and that ever-growing AppStore with thousands of cool apps and games. I was hooked almost instantly and used it extensively for a while, then all of a sudden, it started gathering dust in my drawer for a couple of months, and I was back in my old Symbian routine, using a Nokia E72 and N97 Mini. That was until I decided to take the iPod Touch back again, jailbreak it because I felt I was missing an opportunity there, and with multitasking enabled, we became the “bestest” of friends and stayed that way ever since. Lately, I’ve even been using it more and more, relying on it for all my Music and Gaming needs, for my RSS feeds with Reeder, for all my medical apps needs, and a lot of other functions too. Needless to say, those 8GB filled up pretty fast and I was battling the free MBs at least once or twice a week.
That was until the new generation of iPod Touch was announced, and the 32GB one was presented at a relatively affordable price, with all the novelties inside. I couldn’t help but cave in. And I’m pretty excited to say that I’ve been a happy happy camper ever since.

LG Optimus One Photo Gallery
LG might have lost a lot of market share in the smartphone segment but that’s not stopping them from innovating. They launched the Optimus GT540 which was a pretty decent Android phone at an attractive price point . Back in September the company announced the Optimus Chic and One which come with the latest version of Android – FroYo 2.2 . That seems to have done a lot of good to the company as it announced that it has sold over 1 million Optimus One handsets since launch in USA, Europe and Asia. Nokia N8 + Full USB Keyboard = Awesome wpm !
Just when we were struggling with the Nokia N8 T9 keyboard, we spotted a spare PC USB keyboard lying in our office . We decided to connect the wired keyboard to the N8 using the USB OTG feature. It will certainly boost your wpm score( words per minute) . Michael already showed that you can control the N8 with a Keyboard and Mouse via Bluetooth. But we are kinda surprised that it works over a wired connection too. BTW a USB Mouse works as well .

Video: Unboxing of the Nokia C7
I received a brand new Nokia C7 today (huge thanks to Nokia Austria), in the fantastic looking black charcoal colour. I got struck by the awesome feel again, the whole device is very nicely built and will definitely surprise you, if you think its just a cheap quality rip off. I decided to do an unboxing video for the first time in years, and also tested waters to film with my Canon EOS 500D. So go easy on me guys, i usually don’t do much videos, but definitely wanna get more into it 🙂 I’m gonna test the symbian^3-powered, Nokia C7 thoroughly in the next 3 weeks, which will result in one or more review posts!
