While the Note 2 is a lot easier to grip , it is still a big phone. It makes the iPhone 4S look so small when held next to it.

YouTube for Android has been updated to version 4.1.23 that brings new UI for Android Froyo and Gingerbread devices. The home page now shows recommended video on top. You can now add video to YouTube TV queue from the app and pick more channels from the YouTube picks. The new UI and Preloading features were released for Android 4.0 devices in June. MediaTek, the company behind those ultra cheap single and dual core system on chips launched recently, is prepping for another round of competition. Yes, they are now in the quad-core game, well, at least they will be, when they start making those sweet quad-core chips starting Q4 2012, according to reports from China Times.

Continuing with that upward trend of app count as well as app downloads, the Google Play Store has hit 25 billion downloads of about 675,000 apps and games. There was mighty uproar yesterday about a dirty USSD hack that enabled links with a simple USSD code wipe the entire phone back to factory reset. It was widely reported to have affected all the major Samsung devices that were running the company’s custom skin called TouchWiz. Instagram, the most loved photo app/social network, which debuted on the iPhone, has been updated for the latest and the greatest iPhone, the iPhone 5. It adds support for the taller screen, meaning the resolution of the app is now 1136X640. While you are now able to see more of the app, weirdly, they have removed support for live filters. Samsung is gearing up to launch the upgraded version of the immensely popular Galaxy Note – Galaxy Note 2 in India later this week. Samsung had opened pre-bookings for the device and consumers could reserve a Galaxy Note 2 by paying Rs.5000 as an advance.In an email to customers who had pre-booked the phone on the company’s eStore , it is mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be launched on the 27th on the eStore.The Note 2 has some interesting specs including a 5.5 inch display and a 3100 mAh battery and a Quad-core CPU.

Samsung has announced the list of devices that would receive the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update according reports from The Verge and Techcrunch. Samsung started rolling out the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy SIII yesterday starting from Poland. Samsung Denmark confirmed the Jelly Bean updates for S2 earlier this month, now we have the complete list of the devices that would get the update.
