OnePlus has finally started rolling out stable Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the OnePlus 5T smartphone with OxygenOS 5.0.2, as it had promised at the launch. This comes a month after the first Oreo open beta update. OnePlus has released new open betas (Beta 5 for OnePlus 5 and Beta 3 for OnePlus 5T) that brings several new features including new pick-up gesture switcher to choose which way you slide to pick up a phone call, adds CPU security patch: CVE-2017-13218 and removes the Clipboard function after feedback from users. There is a new SMS categorization function for India to auto-sorts SMS messages into categories. You can now talk to Google Assistant in Hindi – Here’s how to enable it [Update: Only for select Hindi queries]

Update: Google India today clarified that Hindi support for the Assistant has not been launched and Hindi support is only available in the Google Assistant as part of Allo. Check out the official statement below.

The Google Assistant on Android phones and iPhones is currently available in English in India, built for English input but supporting a few selected Hindi queries. While we’ve launched the Hindi Google Assistant on Allo, it’s not available on phones yet. We are looking to bring the Assistant experience to more Indian languages over time.

Nokia 8 Android 8.1 Oreo beta update starts rolling out

HMD Global started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo beta update for the  Nokia 8 smartphone in October and it got the stable Android 8.0 update in November last year. Today the company has released the latest Android 8.1 Oreo update for the beta testers and the Chief product officer; Juho Sarvikas announced the same on Twitter. Xiaomi announced the lightning fast MIUI 9 Global back in November 2017 with many fresh changes including Split Screen, Interactive and Fresh UI changes, New Gallery App, Calendar Cards, App Vault, New Notification Shade, Mi Video App, New Mi Explorer and Mi Drop.
