Oppo R819 Hands on First Impressions

Only yesterday we saw Oppo reveal its latest smartphone, the curiously named R819. After a critical success of the Oppo Find 5, which we think is one of the best Android hardware available on the market, the company has sought to reach lower price points with a smaller and a more mid-range device. We see the R819 as Oppo’s effort to claim volume as encouraging market results have cropped up at home. And surprise! We’ve already got the R819 here in our labs and here are our first impressions of the device in detail, read on!

Spice Stellar Glamor Mi-436 with 4-inch display, dual-core processor and Android 4.2 coming soon

Spice is all set to launch the Stellar Glamor (Mi-436), a new Android smartphone in the Stellar series. This would have a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and 3G . This would compete with the Intex Cloud Y2 that was launched earlier this week since both these have almost similar specifications. Nokia Lumia 625 up for online pre-order in India for Rs. 19499

The Nokia Lumia 925 went on sale in India from the official Nokia Store last week. Now the Lumia 625 is available for pre-order from online retailer Flipkart in India. The Lumia 625 was unveiled last month and packs a 4.7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) LCD display, which is the largest screen on a Lumia phone till date. The display also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protectiont and Super Sensitive Touch. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8930 processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS with the latest Amber update. HTC One 4.2.2 Jellybean Update: What’s new?

The HTC One was announced way back in February and it finally launched in India during May. The HTC One was launched on Android 4.1.2 and it got the Android 4.2.2 update back in July. The update is available both as OTA(Over-the-air) and via PC Companion. The size of the update is 436MB and it comes with a whole bunch of features.

Oppo R819 now available for a AUD 399$ pre order in Australia, Japan and Hong Kong

We just saw Oppo reveal their latest smartphone, the R819, an effort to make a well engineered smartphone that’s not too hard on your wallet. Speaking of your wallet, we have just been notified that the R819 is now available for pre order in three countries, namely Australia, Japan and Hong Kong. For 399$ in AUD, the device seems a bit pricier for the specs, but since this is just a pre order price, we reserve judgement until Oppo reveals their global price in USD. People from Hong Kong can get it for HK$2,798 and the Japanese can get it for 36,000 JPY, all from the third party retailer online retailer Expansys.

Update: The official Oppo Style site has now listed the R819 for a 349$ USD(roughly converts to 21K INR) pre order.

Oppo reveals the R819, 4.7 inch 720p display in a 7.3mm thin and 110g light body

Oppo, the Chinese company well known for its flagship product – the Oppo Find 5, has just revealed the latest product in its portfolio, the R819. The Oppo R819 comes with a stunningly svelte frame, measuring just 7.3mm in thickness and weighing 110g in weight. Although this is thicker than the company’s own 6.65mm Finder smartphone, it is still a considerable achievement due to all the modern specs the device boasts. It has a 4.7 inch 1280×720 resolution IPS screen that promises to have really good viewing angles thanks OGS(One glass solution). Other specs are pretty normal, which includes a 8 megapixel camera and a MediaTek MT6589 Quad Core processor. It runs on Android 4.2.1 JellyBean but can run Oppo’s own Color ROM as well as the stock Android ROM thanks to the unlocked bootloader out of the box.

Intex Cloud X4 and Cloud Y2 with Android 4.2 launched for Rs. 4590 and Rs. 6190

Intex has launched two new phones in the Cloud series, the Intex Cloud X4 and the Cloud Y2. The Cloud X4 is the successor of the Cloud X3 that was launched last month. Most the specifications are similar to the Cloud X3 including a 3.5-inch display and a 1 GHz dual-core processor, but this has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera instead of the 2MP camera. It also comes with a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The Cloud Y2 packs a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Both these phones runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS and has 3G support.

Over the past few days, a rumor has been circulating around the internet that the next iPhone 5S is expected to come in a whole new color combination of Gold and Champagne. Photos of parts of the new iPhone 5S Gold/Champagne have been spotted on the internet and KGI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also said that the iPhone 5S would indeed be available in Gold.

It has a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has Dual SIM support with 3G on one SIM and 2G on the other and packs a 1500 mAh battery. Spice Pinnacle FHD Mi-525 Benchmarks

S Mobility has launched the Stellar Pinnacle FHD Mi-525, the company’s first smartphone with a 5-inch full HD display. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. Since this has a faster processor, the scores would obviously be better than the MT6589 chip clocked at 1.2 GHz. Can this beat other phones such as the Xolo Play powered by a Tegra 3 chip ? Microsoft’s Fresh Paint app now supports WP 8 devices with 512MB of RAM

Microsoft has updated its Fresh Paint app to version 1.0.3255.1 that brings support to Windows Phone 8 devices with 512 MB RAM. Microsoft launched the Fresh Paint, a free digital painting app last month. The app was originally released for Windows 8 . This app lets you create original artwork by starting with a blank canvas or turn photos or images you take using the phone’s camera into beautiful paintings automatically. Xolo X1000 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OTA update now available

Xolo has announced that they have finally started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xolo X1000. It was launched back in March running on Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich). At the time of launch Xolo promised to update the phone to Jelly Bean in a couple of month, the update was expected to launch back in June, but it was delayed.
