Chinese manufacturer Vivo has introduced a new ‘V’ series of smartphones in India. The company announced two smartphones – Vivo V1 and Vivo V1 Max – on Tuesday saying that these will be priced between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000, and will hit stores later this month. On June 15th, the first updates to Android Lollipop 5.1.1 rolled out to the T-Mobile variants of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Over the past few weeks, the update has made its way to various regions and variants of the device. Now, it’s the turn of the Indian variants of the two devices to receive the update.

Micromax has launched Bolt D303, the company’s latest budget smartphone in the Bolt series. It has Swipe keyboard from Firstouch to translate and transliterate with patented ‘Swipe’ feature that enables users to communicate in their preferred language, similar to Unite 3 that was launched recently. It comes pre-loaded with 10 regional languages that includes, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali and Marathi. Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy J1 in India earlier this year, and even introduced its 4G variant dubbed the Galaxy J1 4G. Now specifications of upcoming Galaxy J2 (SM-J200F) smartphone has surfaced. This comes soon after the announcement of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 selfie-focused smartphones in the J series. Zen Mobile has launched the Sonic 1, the company’s latest budget smartphone. It has a 5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA IPS display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It packs a a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 2 MP front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support and has 3G connectivity. Huawei has launched four new smartphones, three in the Y series – Y336, Y541, Y625 and G620S in the G series. The devices will be marketed through the company’s offline distributors across 1000 stores in the initial phase, said the company. The Huawei G620S also has 4G support. All these smartphones run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Emotion UI on top and have dual SIM support.
If you remember well, a report that came out last month stated that HTC’s One M9 shipments were 43% lower than their One M8 shipments during the same timeframe last year. HTC have been having a lot of trouble recently both in terms of their devices as well as financial woes. So it is high time that they introduce a brand new device that fixes all the shortcomings of the One M9 and tries to solve their financial issues as well. That is where the HTC Aero fits in.

Developers of Truecaller Caller ID app has launched Truemessenger, a smart SMS app for Android. It lets you replace your standard SMS app so that you can identify the sender of the SMS and detect, block or report spam, fraud, telemarketing, sales, and unknown phone numbers. It also offers automated spam filter that is powered by 150 million Truecaller community members worldwide. It is available exclusively in India, and the company plans to launch it globally in the near future.
