Now it has introduced GM5 Plus, a high-end Android One smartphone with a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 79% screen-to-body ratio, Octa-Core Snapdragon 617 processor, Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 13-megapixel auto focus front-facing camera that also has LED flash. LeEco Le Max Pro, which was the first smartphone to be announced with the Snapdragon 820 SoC also becomes the first smartphone with the processor to go on sale in China. Founder and CEO Jia Yueting today on weibo (Via) said that 1000 units of the flagship smartphone will be available for purchase at 1999 yuan (US$ 306 / Rs. 20,995 approx.). Gionee just announced its flagship S8 smartphone at its MWC 2016 event in Barcelona and also unveiled its new logo. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display with pressure sensitive 3D touch that can sense 3 levels of force including touch, tap and press and has screen-to-body ratio of 74.9%. It is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) wit Amigo OS 3.2 on top, which has several new features such a dual WhatsApp support for each SIMs, floating window to watch video while on WhatsApp or browser, Gionee abroad service and more. Jide Technology that released Remix OS 2.0 alpha version for PCs and laptops last month, today announced that it will release beta version of Remix OS for PC on March 1st through OTA and will also be available for download on the official website. “The new Beta version has a substantial number of bug fixes and an increase in device compatibility, as well as over-the-air (OTA) updates, 32-bit system support and dual boot support through a new hard drive installer tool,” said the company. Chinese smartphone maker vivo today confirmed that its flagship Xplay5 smartphone will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and pack whopping 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Most flagship smartphones come with 4GB of RAM, but this will probably be the first smartphone to come with 6GB of RAM.
Acer at MWC Barcelona unveiled its 2016 flagship smartphone the Acer Liquid Jade 2. The phone has similar specifications as the recently launched Windows 10-based Liquid Jade Primo, but this runs Android.
