Xiaomi just announced the Redmi Note 2 smartphone at its MIUI 7 event, as expected. It packs a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, is powered by a octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor and runs on MIUI 7 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus of just 0.1 second. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a Magnesium alloy frame and is 8.25mm thick.
Philips has launched Xenium I908, a mid-range smartphone and the S309, a budget smartphone in India. The Philips I908 appeared on the official Philips India website last year and packs a 5-inch 1080p screen, 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Philips S309 has a 4-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.
Micromax launched the Canvas Xpress 2, the company’s latest budget smartphone last month at a price tag of Rs. 5999. Online retailer Overcart has announced that it will be selling refurbished and unboxed units of the Google Nexus 6 smartphone. It will be available for purchase tomorrow, August 12th at a starting price of Rs. 25,990. It will be covered under a six-month manufacturer warranty from the manufacturer, says the company. Google has finally started rolling out Hangouts 4.0 for Android after it was leaked in June. It brings material design UI, improved message delivery speed and new features such as option to use Hangouts on Android Wear to send a Hangouts message using your smartwatch, outbound caller ID that lets you use your verified number as Caller ID so your friends know who is calling and more.
