JioPhone will attract penalty charges if returned before 36 months

Reliance introduced its first VoLTE feature phone, the JioPhone at its 40^th annual general body meeting. The company had announced that the JioPhone is effectively free, but to avoid misuse, Reliance was collecting INR 1500 as a security deposit.

The deal offered the JioPhone user to use his phone for 36 months and be eligible to get a full refund of the security deposit by returning the used JioPhone. Reliance has now published a detailed terms and conditions of JioPhone usage, which reveals some of the asterisks of the free claim. Airtel VoLTE services launched in India starting from Mumbai

Airtel has launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services in India starting from Mumbai, as expected, making it the second operator in the country to offer VoLTE after Reliance Jio. This lets Airtel customers enjoy HD quality voice calls along with faster call set up time compared to normal voice calls on their VoLTE-compatible 4G handsets. Airtel already offers 4G Advanced Carrier Aggregation technology in Mumbai that offers data speeds of up to 135 Mbps by combining spectrum capacities in 2300MHz (TD LTE) and 1800 MHz (FD LTE). Airtel VoLTE services expected to roll out in India starting next week

Airtel back in July confirmed that the company is trialing 4G VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) services across five circles in the country and will officially launch VoLTE across it circles later this year. Reliance Jio unveiled its JioPhone at the 40th AGM in July and the pre-bookings for the phone began August 24th at 5:30PM. Bookings for the phone crossed 3 million in a couple of hours after the bookings opened even though there were issues booking online and through MyJio app. In 24 hours bookings for the phone crossed 6 million through online and offline channels, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Reliance Jio unveiled its JioPhone at the 40th AGM last month, and the company said that pre-booking for the phone will start on August 24th. As promised today the company has announced that the phone will be available for pre-booking through MyJio app and jio.com online as well as Jio retailers and multi-brand device retailers including the Reliance Digital stores network offline at 5:30PM tomorrow.

Reliance Jio unveiled JioPhone, the company’s first VoLTE feature phone last month. It will start pre-bookings for the phone from 5:30PM today. At the launch it revealed some of the specifications such as 2.4-inch QVGA screen,microSD slot, torch light, FM Radio, support for 22 major Indian languages and voice commands to call someone, reject a call, browse internet, open apps and more. It already confirmed NFC support, and said that tap-and-pay payments through UPI, credit and debit cards will be enabled through software update. MyJio app clocks 100 million installs on the Google Play Store

Reliance Jio launched its MyJio app back in May last year before it started offering Jio Preview Offer for consumers.
