HMD Global has introduced Nokia 3.1 A and Nokia 3.1 C, the company’s latest budget smartphones for US Carriers AT&T and Cricket Wireless, respectively. These have a 5.45-inch HD 18:9 aspect ratio screen, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 SoC, run Android 9 Pie, feature 8MP rear camera with flash, 5MP front camera, polycarbonate body and a 2900mAh battery with USB Type-C.
Vodafone Idea has launched new Vodafone Red Together postpaid plans enable targeting the entire household. The Rs. 999 plan comes with 5 connections thereby bringing down the rental per connection to Rs. 200. It also offers benefits like Amazon Prime, Vodafone Play, Mobile Shield, Single Bill and more.
AT&T has become the first major U.S. mobile carrier to accept payment in cryptocurrency. AT&T customers can now use BitPay to pay online bills using Bitcoin (BTC). Customers will be able to select BitPay as a payment option when they log on to their accounts online or with the myAT&T app.

EE; UK’s mobile network that is part of BT Group today announced that it will launch 5G in Uk starting in six cities: London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh and Belfast from May 30th. It will also introduce new 5G plans, a range of six new 5G smartphones and devices. The company announced 5G roll out plans last year. Airtel has been revising its prepaid and postpaid plans recently and last week, the company launched a new Rs.299 prepaid recharge plan with Amazon Prime subscription bundled. Similarly, today, Airtel has launched two new prepaid recharge plans i.e., Rs. 129 plan and Rs.249 prepaid recharge plan. The Rs.249 prepaid recharge plan also comes with Rs.4 Lakhs Life Insurance bundled.
Airtel revised the price of its 4G hotspot device in December 2017 from its launch price in a bid to compete with incumbent operators. Today, Airtel 4G hotspot has received another price cut and now it is available at Rs.399 per month along with monthly data.
Bharti Airtel and Hughes Communications India Ltd. (HCIL), a subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) today announced an agreement to combine their VSAT operations in India. As per the agreement, Hughes will have majority ownership in the combined entity and Airtel will have a significant shareholding. The Rs. 98 pack comes under Special Tariff Voucher (STV) Combo that includes 6GB of data and 10 national SMS with 28 days validity.

Jio launched its feature phone, JioPhone in June 2017 in India. The phone sported a candy bar design, came with support for 4G VoLTE and had support for 22 Indian languages. The successor to the JioPhone i.e., JioPhone 2 with QWERTY keyboard was launched in July 2018. Jio saw great sales of both the smartphones and today, new reports have emerged that Jio becomes the leader in the feature phone market.

Reliance Jio has reported Rs. 11,106 crore revenue, up 7.0 % QoQ and 55.8 YoY and a net profit of 840 crore, up 1.1% QoQ and 64.7% YoY for its seventh quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 31st March
2019. Jio reported Standalone earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 4,329 crore, up 6.8% QoQ, EBITDA margin of 39%, and Standalone earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 2,585 crore, up 9.1% QoQ .
