Post that yesterday, Reliance Jio launched the 2020 Happy New Year offer and now on similar lines, BSNL has announced recharge offers for Rs. 1999 annual plan.

Jio 2020 Happy New Year Offer: Get 1 year plan with 1.5GB/day data or JioPhone with 500MB/day data at Rs. 2020

Reliance Jio just launched Jio 2020 Happy New Year Offer for both Jio users and those who are looking to get a new JioPhone. Under this offer Jio users get 1.5GB/day data, 100 SMS per day and Jio to Non-Jio FUP of 12,000 minutes with 12 months of validity at Rs. 2020. This is Rs. 179 cheaper than the yearly All-in-one plans that was announced earlier this month. Reliance Jio introducedNew All-in-one plans‘ with revised pricing along with JioPrime benefits with Fair Usage Policy on unlimited calling from Jio to other networks. Later it revised the plans with up to 40% higher tariff that came into effect 6th December 2019. It also urged users to recharge before the date. Thanks to TRAI’s tariff protection, which mandes all telecom operators to make any plan available for a minimum of six months, you can recharge smartphone plans for 6 more months, and all-in-one plans till April 2020. Airtel today launched its Wi-Fi Calling / Vo-WiFi services in India officially starting from Delhi NCR. This lets Airtel users make VoWi-Fi calls in compatible handsets offering improved indoor coverage, faster connectivity and says it will offer crystal clear conversations as if you are next to each other, however it is currently available only when users are connected to Airtel Xstream Fibre network when connected to WiFi. Vodafone Idea offers unlimited calling to other networks with all unlimited plans

After Airtel, Vodafone Idea has is also now offering unlimited calling to other networks on their unlimited plans. Similar to Airtel,  there are ‘no conditions’ applicable and users can enjoy unlimited calling to any network on all unlimited plans. Vodafone Idea  revised its prepaid plans few days back to introduce FUP in off-net minutes and charged 6p/min for them, which is not applicable anymore with any of the unlimited plans. Reliance Jio brings back Rs. 149 All-in-one plan with less data and validity, yet cheaper than others

After Airtel and Vodafone Idea, Reliance Jio introduced its New All-in-one plans‘ with revised pricing along with JioPrime benefits, but it started with Rs. 199 offering  1.5 GB/day, 1000 off-net mins and 28 days validity. Now it has brought back Rs. 149 plan, which now offers 1GB / day, 300 off-net mins and 24 days validity. Previously the plan offered 1.5 GB/day data and 28 days validity with unlimited calling to any network. Airtel to offer unlimited calling to other networks with all unlimited plans starting December 7 [Update: New Plans]

Update: Airtel has announced 3 new Truly Unlimited Plans – Rs. 219, Rs. 399, and Rs. 449.

  • Rs. 219 – Unlimited calling on any network, 1 GB/day data, 100 SMS/day, 28 days validity
  • Rs. 399 – Unlimited calling on any network, 1.5 GB/day data, 100 SMS/day, 56 days validity
  • Rs. 449 – Unlimited calling on any network, 2 GB/day data, 90 SMS/day, 56 days validity.

Alongside the new truly unlimited plans, all existing unlimited plans will offer unlimited calls to other networks in India without any FUP.

Airtel increases prepaid tariff rates, will charge 6 paise per minute for calls to other mobile operators

Shortly after Vodafone Idea announced their new prepaid plans, Bharati Airtel has now released their new prepaid tariff. The new plans represent a hike in tariff between 50 paise per day to Rs 2.85 per day.

Airtel and Vodafone Idea to increase tariffs from December 1 [Update: Reliance Jio will also increase tariffs]

Update: Reliance Jio has now confirmed that it will also be increasing tariffs in “next few weeks”. “As per media reports, we understand that TRAI is likely to initiate a consultation process for revision of telecom tariffs. Like other operators, we will also work with the Government and comply with the regulatory regime to strengthen the industry to benefit Indian consumers and take measures including an appropriate increase in tariffs in next few weeks in a manner that does not adversely impact data consumption or growth in digital adoption and sustains investments.”, said Jio in a statement.

Airtel begins building partnerships for 5G use cases; in talks with other companies for private LTE networks

At India Mobile Congress (IMC) last year and this year, Airtel showcased 5G use cases, futuristic digital technologies, and more. While some countries have started deploying commercial 5G networks, Indian telecom operators are yet to get the spectrum allocated. But in the meantime, Airtel has now said that they have started building partnerships and alliances for right 5G use cases and is also in talks for private LTE networks.
