Airtel TV has been offering users with a wide range of content on mobile. Airtel today announced that it has shutdown its 3G network in Kolkata, and only 4G network will be available in the city. It has refarmed the 900 MHz band spectrum being used for 3G to further strengthen its 4G network, which will be rolled out across the country in phased manner. It has deployed state-of-the-art L900 technology in the 900 MHz band to complement its 4G services in the 2300 Mhz and 1800 Mhz bands.
After rolling out Airtel Thanks benefits for its pre-paid and post-paid customers, the company is now extending the offer to its V-Fiber home broadband customers. Under this, Airtel ‘V-Fiber’ home broadband plans of Rs. 1099 and above will now get a range of exclusive benefits. Airtel today launched 4G services in Lakshadweep, and the company claims that it is the first mobile operator to launch 4G services in the island, however BSNL had launched 4G services in Kavaratti back in November last year. Airtel 4G services will be available in Agatti, Bangaram and Kavaratti to begin with and will be gradually expanded to other islands of the archipelago. AT&T has become the first major U.S. mobile carrier to accept payment in cryptocurrency. AT&T customers can now use BitPay to pay online bills using Bitcoin (BTC). Customers will be able to select BitPay as a payment option when they log on to their accounts online or with the myAT&T app.

EE; UK’s mobile network that is part of BT Group today announced that it will launch 5G in Uk starting in six cities: London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh and Belfast from May 30th. It will also introduce new 5G plans, a range of six new 5G smartphones and devices. The company announced 5G roll out plans last year. Airtel has been revising its prepaid and postpaid plans recently and last week, the company launched a new Rs.299 prepaid recharge plan with Amazon Prime subscription bundled. Similarly, today, Airtel has launched two new prepaid recharge plans i.e., Rs. 129 plan and Rs.249 prepaid recharge plan. The Rs.249 prepaid recharge plan also comes with Rs.4 Lakhs Life Insurance bundled.
Airtel revised the price of its 4G hotspot device in December 2017 from its launch price in a bid to compete with incumbent operators. Today, Airtel 4G hotspot has received another price cut and now it is available at Rs.399 per month along with monthly data.
Bharti Airtel and Hughes Communications India Ltd. (HCIL), a subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) today announced an agreement to combine their VSAT operations in India. As per the agreement, Hughes will have majority ownership in the combined entity and Airtel will have a significant shareholding.
